4 best rubbermaid salad spinners

Rubbermaid salad spinners are popular kitchen gadgets designed to help prepare salads by efficiently washing and drying leafy greens and other vegetables. They are part of the Salad Tools Spinners category and are commonly used in home kitchens for convenience and ease of use. Here are some key features and information about Rubbermaid salad spinners:

  1. Design: Rubbermaid salad spinners typically consist of a plastic bowl with a removable strainer basket and a lid with a built-in spinning mechanism. The spinning mechanism is operated by a handle or a push-button, allowing users to spin and dry the salad greens.

  2. Usage: To use a Rubbermaid salad spinner, you start by placing your freshly washed greens or vegetables into the strainer basket. Then, you cover the salad spinner with the lid and use the handle or push-button to spin the contents. The centrifugal force generated by the spinning action helps to remove excess water from the vegetables, leaving them crisp and dry.

  3. Benefits: Salad spinners are a valuable kitchen tool because they make it easy to prepare salads quickly. By removing excess moisture, they prevent dressings from becoming watered down, ensuring that your salad stays fresh and flavorful. This also helps extend the shelf life of your greens.

  4. Sizes and Variations: Rubbermaid salad spinners are available in various sizes to accommodate different quantities of vegetables. Some may come with additional features such as a removable strainer for easy cleaning or a non-slip base to prevent movement during spinning.

  5. Cleaning and Maintenance: These salad spinners are generally easy to clean. The strainer basket and lid can usually be detached and are dishwasher safe for convenient cleanup.

  6. Durability: Rubbermaid is a reputable brand known for producing durable and long-lasting kitchen products, including salad spinners. Many users find their salad spinners to be reliable and capable of withstanding regular use.

  7. Price Range: The price of Rubbermaid salad spinners varies depending on the model and features, but they are generally considered affordable and provide good value for the convenience they offer in the kitchen.

In summary, Rubbermaid salad spinners are handy kitchen gadgets designed to make the process of washing and drying salad greens and vegetables more efficient. They are easy to use, clean, and maintain, and they help ensure that your salads are fresh and delicious.

User questions & answers

Question: Do you offer a smaller size
Answer: I will definitely buy a smaller one also
Question: How many cups of lettuce does this spinner hold
Answer: The bowl is 5 liters, which is about 5 quarts, or 20 cups. As big, or bigger than most other salad spinners. You probably wouldn't want to pack it tightly to capacity. But it easily holds the greens for a salad for 4 to 8 servings.
Question: Can this be usued to toss my girlfriends salad? She is always asking friends and neighbors to do this for her
Answer: If you aren’t kidding around, the answer is yes. The device is quite portable. She’ll love it, so you will likely not get it back.
Question: Can it spin dry clothes
Answer: If you want to use a salad spinner for small clothing items, get one of the hand crank ones, where you control the speed and direction on the top. The pump and drawstring ones don't offer enough control once clothes become bunched up from going the same direction for too long.

Question: Are these products BPA free
Answer: Sure if you don't mind a real small pizza. Somewhere between small and personal pan
Question: Do you put them in the veggie drawers in the fridge, or just on the bottom shelf
Answer: I do not change my recipe. I dont think it is necessary and I use this pan often . it is my favorite pan for anything with a crust. The bottome dimensions are more narrow than my 9" pan, this may be why it works. I dont think you can go wrong with this pan.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the diameter and the height of this salad spinner? Thanks
Answer: I'm not sure if you're looking for a specific measurement. If so- I don't know. The biggest magnet is about twice as strong as a kitchen magnet. Some of the others are about the same power. It was easy for my then six year old to use and he enjoyed it.
Question: Will it clean tiny potatoes? Love them, but dont want to wash and brush each individual potato. Need an easy fix for cleaning small new red potatoes
Answer: Yes, it definitely has, with different types of magnets. Overall a very well done and instructive experiment set for youngsters.
Question: what is the size
Answer: My kits are in my classroom, but from my memory there are: 5 small disk magnets and 1 magnetized pole, 3 ball magnets, 1 horseshoe magnet with magnetic keeper, small dish of iron filings, small steel rod and wire for making electromagnets, bag of plastic disks with metal around circumference, the book and a 2.5 inch styrofoam disk for one of the experiments in the book, also has a cardboard magnetic field measurement chart. Hope this helps. :D
Question: So is this a good spinner for $16? Does it feel cheap or is it a quality product that works well? Any gripes with it
Answer: Naturally, each child is different, but generally this set is appropriate for elementary aged children. The value of this kit is greatly magnified by a teacher or adult that is guiding the learning experience.

User questions & answers

Question: Can you use it like a tupperware, as well
Answer: I have the mini. Not sure of the capacity but the container holds 8-9 cups (measured with water). I would think the spinner bowl would hold about 6 cups. Works fine for the 2of us.
Question: What size are the holes on this little salad spinner? Will my alfalfa sprouts go threw the holes
Answer: According to OXO's site, the larger spinner is 10.5"x10.5"x5.9" and the smaller one is 8'' x 8'' x 7'', but even that is confusing since we don't know if that is with the plunger extended or locked, and I am guessing that it 5.9" is with the large one locked and 7" is with the small one extended, but it is not indicated at all. Question: How many cups is the large vs the small spinner
Answer: I'm at work and it's at home, so this is a rough estimate. It has about a 12 inch diameter and stands about 8 inches tall. I live alone, but it is probably big enough for 2-3 servings.
Question: What are the measurements (H+W+D) of the small size and the large size OXO Good grips Spinner. I need to determine where to store it
Answer: I would think that you could use it with other vegetables, but you may not get the desired results. This spinner consists of 2 pieces, the inside bowl is what actually spins and propels the water to the outside bowl. I believe water would spin away from the carrots and mushrooms, but I'm not sure just how dry they will be. I've only tried lettuce in the spinner...and it works great! Hope this helps!
