Answer:	I wish scales didn't have this--it's really just grams, changing the "gm" to "ml." Many kitchen liquids are around 1 g/ml, so it's not too far off for them. Oils are around 0.9 g/ml, so a reading of "10 ml" would actually be 10 gram, or about 11 ml. But honey is dense--about 1.4 g/ml. A reading of "10 ml" would actually be 7 grams.
Question:	can I put a bowl on it, zero it, then weigh only the contents of the bowl, not the bowl itself
Answer:	Yes, absolutely. You can put a bowl on it. Tun it on and it will start with zero. Then, you can weight your contents.

Question:	Does it also go negative? For example, if I have a bowl with food in it and tare it, then remove some of the food, does it show a negative number
Answer:	I also needed to know if it would go negative 😊. The reason we use the negative measurements is this: if I am making a recipe, and I need to add 20 grams of honey, rather than messing up a measuring cup, you put the open honey jar (you don't want to include cap weight) on the scale and tare or "zero" it. Then, pick up the honey, put in about what you think is about 65% of your desired weight. Then put the honey jar back on the scale. The amount it shows in a negative number is the number of units (for me, usually grams) that you added to your recipe. Repeat pouring in until the scale registers as a negative number what you were looking to add (in this example, at the end it would say -20g).
Question:	Why are you using horribly faked superimposed photos of food? It throws off the scale of the product
Answer:	That's for "scale" (it's small: you put food on it, not people). Yes, these are definitely photoshopped, which is common here on Amazon. (If you click the strawberries and then hover your mouse over the different colors, you'll see that these are the EXACT same strawberries in each picture. ) Take a look at the review photos for something more real.

Answer:	"Schrodinger's cat" LOL! Patricia, I use my scale to weigh my parrot. i just have to get him to hold still for a second which I do by holding an almond in front of him. Cats usually momentary freeze when they see something interesting to them as well. Alternatively, you could make an odd sound, like a distressed mouse squeak. Your cat will probably freeze at that in order to determine where the noise is coming from. Let the cat play in the box before you put it on the scale so she/he will be used to being in it.

Answer:	First, the 33lber has a thin steel top which, compared to the glass top of 22 lber looks and feels less pleasing and lower quality, so less pleasure to use. Secondly, the 33 is very slightly smaller in actuality plus you can use less of what you have then the 22lb cause of how control panel laid out. On the 33 the panel is all in middle so extends more into weighing surface then 22 which has it spread out in thinner line. Also, text on 33 panel harder to read in dim light cause is black without the white border etching of 22. I'd like to be able to do heavier weight then 22 lb but trade offs not worth it for me Nicewell needs to come out with 3rd option

Question:	can you be calibrated with like a nickel or something like that instead of have to buy that weight is there anything else calibrator
Answer:	Or 20 nickels should equal to 100 calibration weight
Question:	Mine won't register any weight, and has a circle with a dot in the middle in the lower left of the display. What does that mean
Answer:	You press the mode button untill you find your desire weight unit, wait till it shows 00.00then place your item. I dont know what the dot with circle means yet.
Question:	Why doesn't this scale recognize an empty #3 capsule that weighs .05g? Sometimes it does, but most times, not
Answer:	It is not reliable with such small weights. I think such scales come with a minimum starting weight that is often greater than their minimal increment. I threw this away and got a more sensitive one.
Question:	What weight does calibration require? i assume it requires a specific weight placed on the scale for recalibration? tia
Answer:	A 1 dollar bill weighs exactly 1.0 grams. Set the scale to grams, place a dollar bill on the scale of it the scale reads 1.0 grams scale is celebrated.

Question:	Does have the option to measure purely in ounces (i.e display 40 oz instead of 2lb 8oz
Answer:	I found the manual online which makes it clear you can do this. "Press the Unit Button to switch between measuring in ounces, ounces and pounds, grams, or grams and kilograms."
Question:	OXO has another 11 pound model that is $10.00 cheaper. What is the difference and why is this one $10.00 more
Answer:	The one that's $10.00 cheaper is the immediately preceding model to this one. Its about 4 years older. I had it and loved using it and only replaced it when it went bad. The cheaper one is not as slick, a bit more kludgy when it comes to using it but by no means difficult, has a bit of a smaller display screen etc. But its a perfectly worthy machine. The new one is a generation newer and carries both the style and utility benefit of having a generation more to learn from. I'm very happy with it and was very happy with the older one too.
Question:	The previous model had an infuriating tendency to turn off automatically if a weighing task took too much time. Does this one turn off automatically
Answer:	This model does not turn off supposedly for about a half an hour. I have never had it on that long so I don’t know if that’s actually the time. But it does remain on for as long as 15 minutes.
Question:	Does this model have the backlight? Also, what is the difference between the newest version
Answer:	It does have a back light but I was really disappointed with the 2018 version and sent it back. The earlier version is still available and in my opinion is a much better device. The big difference is that the new one doesn’t do fractions it only does decimals and only to one numeral ( 1.2 ounces or 1.3, not 1.25 so no 1/4 oz equivalent). I need to be able to measure 1/8 of an ounce, 1/4 of an ounce, etc. The only way to do that in the new one is to use grams and I found the gram measurements on the new one to be wildly inconsistent compared to the old one. Instead of a button that switches between grams and ounces It switches between grams and kilograms and then ounces and pounds and then ounces. That means that every time you switch between grams and ounces you actually have to push the button multiple times. First it switches from grams to kilograms and then it switches to ounces and then to ounces and pounds. Hated it! Love the old one!
