Answer:	I wish scales didn't have this--it's really just grams, changing the "gm" to "ml." Many kitchen liquids are around 1 g/ml, so it's not too far off for them. Oils are around 0.9 g/ml, so a reading of "10 ml" would actually be 10 gram, or about 11 ml. But honey is dense--about 1.4 g/ml. A reading of "10 ml" would actually be 7 grams.

Answer:	I assume you weighed U.S. coins from 1965 or later. The manufacturer (Etekcity) states that this model scale be limited to items greater than 3-5 grams to achieve most accurate measurement. A quarter weighs 5.67 grams. If that was what you weighed and the reading was inaccurate (not 6 grams) then the scale should be returned. If you weighed a nickel which is 5 grams and the reading was inaccurate (not 5 grams), then 6 to 5 and pick 'em. If you weighed a dime or penny and the reading was inaccurate then that is within specification and the scale is operating as designed. For scales in this category (budget-priced electronic scales for items between 5 grams and 11 lbs), this level of precision is normal.

I use it to weigh jewelry for auctions and always weigh everything two or three times to be sure my descriptions are accurate.

Answer:	You need a 600 gram weight firstly. Turn the scale on, then long press "MODE" until the screen flashes, put the 600g weight on the scale until the screen show "PASS", restart the scale and then start to use. That's the whole process to calibrate the scale.

Answer:	I emailed the manufacturer, and this is their answer: We are sorry that you are having trouble deciphering the weight unit increments of this scale. Please note that when the weight unit is set at POUNDS (lb) the weight increments for the ounces will be from .02 to .98 therefore a reading of 9.40 (9.4) will mean a weight result of 9 pounds and 4 ounces whereas a reading of 9.22 will mean a weight result of 9 pounds and 2.2 ounces. Also, when the weight unit is set at OUNCES (oz) the weight increment for the ounces will be from .20 to .80 (3.2 oz to 12.8 oz).

Answer:	Not in answer to that, but if you're only weighing newborn kittens, I suggest a food scale. It's very accurate and I used it on mine till she decided to hulk out and get bigger than my Jack Russell. It would have to be inherently more accurate as dealing with small measurements would need better detail. I just used the regular one I use in the kitchen, but covered it with a wash cloth for grip and sanitation and zeroed out the scale before use. I think mine was a cheapo from Aldi and it was rated up to 11lbs.
