Answer:	This depends on the size of the acorns and hickory nuts. The approximate maximum spacing between the wires of my Kollectaball 60 is 1/2 inch. So anything smaller in diameter than that would likely fall out or may not be picked up at all.

Answer:	I am not sure if it will pick up black walnuts, unless if your tennis court is rated by them. This will pick up tennis balls with ease and efficiency. Although I think this is extremely highly priced. It does a great job of picking up the balls. The blinking light is just an added feature to make it cute. The sprayer's light changes colors and blinks too. Also, to make it work, if you choose to use alcohol, you do have to dilute it or it will not work.

Answer:	I just plugged mine in and placed it in a few inches of water, turned on the power switch and it worked fine. You don’t need to submerge it all the way in water just a few inches. If yours is not working, I would send it back.
