Answer:	I don’t know where it’s made. However, it seems very sturdy compared to the inexpensive one I got many years ago from the local supermarket. I’ve not had an issue with it falling apart like what other reviewers had said.

Answer:	It is protruded from side for slicing but when I want consistent size on my slices, I tend to use my Benriner mandolin because it takes less pressure to get the job done and more efficient at it.
