Answer:	The opening wheel (not really a blade) does NOT touch the contents in the can. It only contacts the outside edge of the can rim. So the food is not contaminated. Sometimes, some of the food leaks out and gets of the wheel. I use a small brush dipped in warm dish water to clean the wheel. A tooth brush works great.

HOW DO I OPEN THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT?



Recently, we received a issue with our can openers where the battery cover is difficult to open. here are some instructions for how to open these if you received one of the units:



STEP 1: Find the can opener's anti-slip edge.



STEP 2: Press the skid-proof edge on left side and push back gently.



STEP 3: Same operation on the right side.



STEP 4: Pull it back together and open it.

Operating the Can Opener

Step1 - Place the Can Opener on top of the can with its rim positioned in the groove between the Cutter and the Drive Wheel

Step2 - With the can on a flat surface, press the Button for about one second and release, then the Can Opener will start cutting the side of the can

Step3 - When the cutting has completed, press the button immediately to reverse the cutter

Step4 - Make sure that the cutter resets to the start position and the motor stops. Then, lift the can opener off the can

Trouble Shooting

1. If batteries are depleted, the can may not be released by pressing the button. Slide back the Battery Door and replace 2 AA batteries. The Can Opener should continue the cutting. Remember to replace the battery.

2. Cans with heavy seams and uneven rims may stall the Can Opener. If this happens, follow above procedure to release the can.

Answer:	I have nothing against them at all but do not use dollar store batteries for this, it will die opening one can. Energizer - lasts a very long time. This thing is great !

Answer:	I haven't tried it on small diameter cans, but I cannot see why it wouldn't work. It works great on my soup and tuna cans. However, the magnet doesn't always grab the lid. But, it's great even if the lid isn't grabbed. And, I love the NON-sharp edges it leaves so no cutting fingers!
Question:	does it open big cans? does it use AC power
Answer:	I would not recommend this product for any use. I used it 3-4 times with regular sized can and it worked poorly at best. Next time tried to use and the brand new Duracell batteries about a month later and it was not able to open anything. Wish I had returned it right off because then I found it was too late to return and I'm just out the money I paid for nothing useful. It only uses batteries and nothing "professional" about it.

Answer:	The Amazon order page states it has a 5-year warranty - Good luck with that. I bought mine in December of 2012 and it hasn't opened a can properly in months! The Amco webpage says nothing about a 5-year warranty, and the Amazon return page says the window of opportunity for return or exchange has long closed! So what happened to 5 years? Clicking on link on Amazon results is a vicious circle where you wind up back where you started every time! And no, I no longer have the package it came in (would you keep the box for a $10 can opener?) especially since I expected it to work as well as the one that was in my mother's kitchen for around 30 years!

Recently, we received a issue with our can openers where the battery cover is difficult to open. here are some instructions for how to open these if you received one of the units:

☺STEP 1: Find the can opener's anti-slip edge.

☺STEP 2: Press the skid-proof edge on left side and push back gently.

☺STEP 3: Same operation on the right side.

☺STEP 4: Pull it back together and open it.

Operating the Can Opener



➷Step1 - Place the Can Opener on top of the can with its rim positioned in the groove between the Cutter and the Drive Wheel

➷Step2 - With the can on a flat surface, press the Button for about one second and release, then the Can Opener will start cutting the side of the can

➷Step3 - When the cutting has completed, press the button immediately to reverse the cutter

➷Step4 - Make sure that the cutter resets to the start position and the motor stops. Then, lift the can opener off the can

Trouble Shooting



1. If batteries are depleted, the can may not be released by pressing the button. Slide back the Battery Door and replace 2 AA batteries. The Can Opener should continue the cutting. Remember to replace the battery.

2. Cans with heavy seams and uneven rims may stall the Can Opener. If this happens, follow above procedure to release the can.
