User questions & answers

Question: salt. how salty is it
Answer: Sorry don’t know. But I can say it has very little taste.
Question: shelf life? what's the expiration date on product being shipped now
Answer: Not raw, just slightly roasted to perfection, enjoy!
Question: Does this come refrigerated or is it a can that does not need to be refrigerated before opening
Answer: Hello Yeh, Kevala uses Cashews from Vietnam, recognized for being the sweetest, biggest and with more oil content for thier cashew butter. Kevala does not add any oil, sweetener or any other ingredient. They use full size cashews as they have more oil content than the smaller pieces that are normally used for butters. That's why the quality is so outstanding, hope you enjoy!
Question: How is it different from normal butter
Answer: The texture is pretty creamy at room temperature. Label indicates that refrigeration is not required, but I do refrigerate it and find that it gets hard until back at room temp. I order this brand because it has one ingredient: organic raw cashews.

Beemster Classic 18 Month Aged Gouda Cheese

Aged Gouda, one of the world's most sought-after cheeses, has been made in the Netherlands for over 800 years. Beemster makes theirs in North Holland, where the grazing land is pure and lush. Easy to distinguish, it is the dairy world's equivalent of a Rembrandt or Van Gogh. This edible opus magnum has been matured for eighteen months, allowing its body to develop a muted caramel color, matched by an intense flavor with a sweet finish. The transformation that mild, somewhat ordinary Gouda undergoes during its aging process is simply amazing. Aged Gouda has many layers of nuanced flavor, and its texture lends itself well to shredding or chunking.

Beemster's production is located in Northern Holland, famous for its rich milk and fertile grazing land. Discover one of the world's dairy masterpieces.

  • Made from pasteurized cow's milk.

Gorgonzola Dolce Blue Cheese

From Italy's Lombardy region comes the most imitated blue cheese in the world. Many cheeses falsely claim to be gorgonzola, but they always leave you singing the blues. Authentic Italian Gorgonzola comes in two varieties: Dolce, meaning sweet, and Mountain-- the sharper and firmer version. Dating back to ancient times, this member of the stracchino family is one of the world's classic cheeses.

Almost spreadable, Gorgonzola Dolce is supple and luxurious with an unmistakable tangy creaminess. Its pale white interior is laced with streaks of blue, giving Gorgonzola Dolce a striking appearance to match its piquant flavor. Enjoy Gorgonzola Dolce as a table cheese, spread thickly on a piece of crusty baguette, or as an ingredient in your favorite salad dressing.

  • Made from pasteurized cow's milk.

French Camembert Cheese

Born centuries ago in Normandy, one of France's most fertile regions, authentic Camembert is still exclusively produced there. The Norman dairy farms, covered with delicious grass for cows to graze upon, are peppered with apple trees that protect the rich soil. In fact, some people claim to be able to taste a hint of apple beneath the creamy suppleness of fresh Camembert. A similar cheese to brie, Camembert is formed into smaller wheels and may have a slightly more robust flavor than its larger cousin. Firm when chilled or runny at room temperature, there are many ways to enjoy this wonderful cheese-- with bread, fruit, or nuts. Best when eaten at room temperature.

Smoked Ammerlander Cheese

This all natural product of Germany is mildly smoked in a traditional manner by placing the cheese over smoldering beechwood embers for several hours. The natural smoking gives it an edible brown rind and a piquant, smoky note to enhance its underlying smooth, humble characteristics. Serve this aromatic cheese at room temperature as an outstanding addition to the cheese platter. It is also excellent sliced on sandwiches.

  • We cut and wrap this item by hand. Photo depicts whole 3.5 pound loaf.
  • Made with vegetarian rennet.
  • Preservative-free.
  • Lactose-free (content of lactose < 0.05g per 100g of cheese).

Dorothea-Goat Gouda Cheese

Each wheel of Dorothea (only 4,000 are made per year) is pampered with the optimum aging conditions. Humidity and temperature are meticulously adjusted every few days to assure proper maturation. This wonderfully delicious cheese is made from pasteurized milk, but retains all of the taste for which goat's milk is famous. It is aged over 60 days to develop a full, nutty flavor and a body that is firm, but not hard enough to grate. Dorothea has an aroma reminiscent of the fresh outdoors and an unforgettable flavor.

Coastal English Farmhouse Cheddar Cheese

Aged for a minimum of 15 months, this cheddar is exquisitely rich and sharp with balances of sweet and salty notes. Proof of a well-aged cheese, it has delicate flavor crystals that create a crunchy texture and delightful tasting experience. Perfect for a classic Ploughman's lunch or sandwiches, melts well in sauces and grated over casseroles. A perfect cheddar for your cheese plate.

Manchego Reserve-Extra Aged Cheese

This special Manchego is aged for over 12 months, giving it a sharper, nuttier flavor, and a firmer, more brittle texture than its younger namesake. It is produced in Central Spain's La Mancha region; a territory known for its fierce winds, violent temperature swings, and desert-like aridity. Manchego Reserve is made using traditional methods under strict quality guidelines. We especially love this cheese served with Rioja wine and fresh fruit.

Most Helpful Customer Reviews: French Butter By Marta C. on March 2, 2014 Verified Purchase Quality is just superb. Has the same quality of French butters savored in Normandy, France. Glad I made the purchase. What is it about the those croissants in France? Obviously I’m not a baking expert, I think it’s the butter! French butter totally tastes different from American butter. One of the couples we met in Paris (traveling from Australia) told us that they bought some butter at the market and “ate it like it was cheese.” hmmm.

  • AAA Grade quality pasteurized butter in 8.8oz/250g sealed container
  • Beurdell Pasteurized Butter preserved through the addition of extra salt, has an unctuous texture and a rich, "cheese-like" taste. Perfect for baking
  • The unique packaging allows a longer shelf and doesn't require refrigeration until consumed.
  • This time-honored tradition creates very pure butter with an incomparable taste and texture. Try a taste of the old world with this sumptuous French butter, made in the traditional way. Their methods allow the development of the prized nutty characteristics the region is famous for
  • The finest French butter is 100% all natural

User questions & answers

Answer: The lid stands fine in its own, but if you are questioning the lid supporting the base, I dont feel it would do that well.
Question: Does it keep it spreadable even in cold climates
Answer: I live in the coastal area of Texas. We don't get below freezing here very often so I can't tell you if the butter stays pliable.
Question: Is sea spray color an aqua blue
Answer: This looks like a lovely grey green or "sea spray", it doesn't look aqua to me. I bought a different color - a French blue, sorry, don't remember what it was called when I ordered it. but it looked exactly as it was featured on line.
Question: Even though I pack it tightly, my butter falls out into the water sometimes. Any suggestions
Answer: i never use the water. i just put my butter in. put the lid on and always have soft spreadable butter. it has never gone bad on me.

User questions & answers

Question: Does it have a two tone striped finish to the paint? Or is it the light reflection
Answer: China........Like pretty much most stuff is made, unfortunately
Question: I have changed the water 2x and both times the butter fell into the water! WHY
Answer: You only fill the crock with 1/3 cup water... it just barely touches the holder. A drop or two may hit the counter, but I haven't noticed even that much, honestly. But I wouldn't swear that NOTHING drips. But not more than that.
Question: I have put the water in up to the fill line and the butter falls in the water every time! am i doing something wrong or do i have a defective item
Answer: Put cold water in to keep butter cool. Every couple of days I just put a couple of ice cubes in jar. I use the butter everyday.
Question: How much butter does it hold? More than 1 stick
Answer: Butter can be left on the counter in any covered butter dish with good results. I used a clear glass covered butter dish prior to buying my Butter Bell, but I felt the lid was slippery and it wasn't as nice looking. Also, I think the water in the Butter Bell keeps the butter fresher and it has a better texture.
