Answer:	The plate itself will not get hot from the microwave. But the heat from the food will get hot and transfer heat to the plate. Don’t fill the plate to capacity and you should be fine. And of course remove it quickly before the heat dissipates to the plate.

But my entry-level chemistry knowledge has me abundantly satisfied that lead in glass is so bonded I expect if any at all were to leach out, it would not be nearly as much as, for example, got into the soil of the entire U. S. back in the days of leaded gasoline, and you breathe anytime there is any dust in the air. On the other hand, I would not think it would be smart to grind down one of these plates to a very fine powder and eat it..

They are heated at a very high heat so they will withstand the microwave heat very well and dishwasher if they don't have a type of decoration that would not be recommended for the microwave/dishwasher. If this was not an AmazonBasics product, Amazon would probably have allow the discount or force the seller take the loss. This showed me that it’s not better but worse to buy an Amazon private labeled products. Opposite of my experience with Costco For their Kirkland product. Mind you, I purchased 3 sets and and 2 of the sets came damaged. What bad customer service and business approach.

Question:	Where is Cornell made
Answer:	Most of our Corelle dinnerware is made in the USA. All of the plates and bowls from the Livingware, Lifestyles, Impressions, Ultra and Corelle Square collections are made in the states. The mugs and glasses in our sets are made in China. Also, our Corelle Hearthstone dinnerware collection is made in China also.
