| Answer: | That isn't a question. Also straightening your hair in the car with a hot object doesn't seem like a good idea. Given that, I'd try the following things: 1) Try something else that is low power and see if it is working, like a phone charger or utility light. Power ports are often only powered when the car is running, but that may go without saying. 2) Make sure it is actually only 35W. Anything that is supposed to heat up is probably more than 35W. 3) If you tried to plug in something that is over 135 W, you could have blown a fuse in the unit itself, or in the car. The cigarette lighter/power port is normally fused to 10 amps, and most things that plug into the car are also fused to 10 amps, so if you exceeded that, one or the other would blow. 4) Does the brush have a ground fault interrupter in its plug? You may be tripping that. Also remember that the 10 amp fuse is input. If your car's electrical system runs at about 14V while the engine is running, that gives you the 140W *input*. The unit is probably at best 85% efficient, so you only have 120W or less *output* to work with before blowing a fuse. We normally use ours for cell phone or laptop computer chargers (probably ~65W max load). It has given us years of reliable service. |

I say that because even though it uses AGM Absorbed Glass Mat construction it still is a battery with plates, thin plates, and the price of this unit makes it so you want it to last as long as possible. So, i just suggest giving it as much care as possible.Also I found this info " AGM Batteries can be safely discharged to about 40%. Failure to recharge this battery promptly after discharge or leaving the battery in a state of low charge may cause sulfation and damage to the cells. " So I would make a point to check the charge level occasionally. |
