User questions & answers
Question: | do the pot handles have an opening/hole that would allow them to be hung up? I can't tell from the pics. Thanks |
Answer: | Yes there is an oval opening at the tip of the handle |
Question: | What is the diameter and height of this pan (without the lid |
Answer: | 8" internal diameter (+ about 1/8" pan thickness each side) and 4 1/4" pan height (without lid). Had this pan plus a 12" dia frypan for a few years now - still love them both - perfect for just about all my day to day cooking needs though a really big stockpot would also be great for occasional use. |
Question: | What are the dimensions of 3 quart |
Answer: | I have the 3-1/2 quart and it is 8 inches in diameter and 4 inches tall. |
Question: | Is there enough difference between the 1.5 and 2 qt. sizes to warrant having both |
Answer: | For me, the difference is worth it. Since my children are all grown and on there own, I don't cook in large quantities anymore. So the small potsare just the thing for everyday cooking. I'll cook potatoes for mashing in the 2 qt. and a vegetable in the 1.5 qt. I also have a 3 qt. with steamer, a 4 qt. for cooking soups and spaghetti, and a 6 qt for getting veggies ready for canning. I kept a 1 qt. pot from my old set of Revere Ware and use it for sauces. |

This piece of cookware gets its name from the Italian word “pentola” which means pot and as its name implies, it’s great for boiling pasta. That’s because of its high sides and the included colander, which you can just lift to drain without damaging the delicate starches. But, it’s also great for steaming or making foods that require straining small particles, like meat or veggie stocks. As part of our Copper Core collection, this Pasta Pentola features a thick copper core, 2 layers of aluminum, and 2 layers of stainless steel. Its construction and materials are perfect for recipes that require maximum temperature precisions. For an added touch of elegance, it has a polished surface with a starburst finish and a cutout that shows off that lustrous copper. At 7 quarts, it accommodates a couple pounds of pasta. To keep your All-Clad looking brand new, we recommend washing your cookware with a soap and sponge instead of the dishwasher. Like all our bonded cookware, it's handmade in the USA at our Canonsburg, PA factory with ultra-durable materials that'll last a lifetime and never go out of style. User questions & answers
Question: | Is there a steamer inserts that fits this |
Answer: | I don't know of a steamer that fits. Just an FYI, in case you have it as an unasked question - I don't feel there is enough room between the pasta insert and bottom of the pot to allow you to use the included insert as a steamer basket. For steaming, I use my All-Clad 8 quart copper core stock pot with the separately sold: All-Clad 5708-ST Stainless Steel Professional Steamer Insert. I like that combo as it gives more surface area (the pot has a larger circumference) for the bottom of the steamer basket. Also, I can fit a pudding basin in it for steaming pudding ;-) If you are debating on purchasing it because you want a pot for both pasta and steaming, I would either get a pot (Al-Clad makes them as well) that includes both basket and strainer already in set. If you already have this pot and are looking for a steaming solution using it, perhaps someone else will have an answer. You might also consider going with a pressure cooker insert. The steamer basket usually comes with a stand and then you don't have to worry about it nesting perfect at the top of the pot. |
Question: | Do you have a 12 qt, all-clad ss copper core 5-ply bonded etc. pot available |
Answer: | All-Clad doesn't make the 12-quart pot in Copper Core. They do have it available in the Brushed d5 Stainless Line and and Tri-Ply Stainless line. |
Question: | Is the rim flared or straight on the 7qt 5ply pot |
Answer: | Both pieces flare. Similar to other All-Clad pots |
Question: | Has anyone steamed tamales in this? I'd love to hear other uses besides normal steaming, stock, and pasta |
Answer: | Sorry, have only used for pasta. |

User questions & answers
Question: | are the lids really manufactured overseas? i thought all-clad was now having all components manufactured in the US |
Answer: | I do believe that the non bonded parts of All-Clad are made in China. Not 100% certain, since I bought my cookware over 5 years ago, but that is what I hear now. |
Question: | Is there any exposed aluminum on rims? 2 previous ss sets have an exposed aluminum strip on rim so they corrode in dishwasher |
Answer: | Yes, there is a very small strip on the edge (2 mm or so), which is simply the layer of aluminum between the layers of steel. Even though All-Clad states these are dishwasher safe, we always recommend hand washing your better quality knives and cookware.Chefs Corner Store |
Question: | Is All Clad Copper Core worth paying extra for |
Answer: | the consensus answer I have found online is that copper core is NOT worth paying extra for. the all clad line with best temperature performance is actually the MC2, but the regular, 3 layer sandwich of SS around aluminum is the all-around winner because it is versatile (i.e. induction capable) and dishwasher safe, unlike MC2. started searching because I was contemplating purchase of a calphalon accucore set that was "deal of the day". learned the most at centurylife.org in an article about "is all-clad worth it". the answer was yes for the d3 all-clad but not for copper core. |
Question: | Is this 18/10 stainless, 304 surgical stainless, or 316 surgical stainless |
Answer: | In all of my research before purchasing my All-Clad I have not come across the use of 304 or 316 surgical stainless, only 18/10. The Tri-ply cookware line that I have purchased (from Amazon and elsewhere) features a 3-ply design, 18/10 steel cooking surfaces, aluminum cores for the even heating, and the highly polished exterior 18/0 stainless for lasting beauty and induction compatibility. Hope this helps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I purchased the 4qt al clad crock pot, it has two vent wholes on the top of the lid, is this normal? I have never had a crockpot with wholes on the li |
Answer: | My lid also has two vents holes. Previous crock pots that I have owned also had 1-2 vent holes. I think this is a common part of the design. |
Question: | my question is about the glass top.it came with two little holes in the lid.never heard of that since a slow cooker should always keep the lid on |
Answer: | any slow cooker needs to have a small steam escape to prevent pressure from building up and blowing the lid off. That's why lids don't fit "perfectly" - for venting. This manufacturer has chosen to have a tight seal around the circumference and compensated with vent holes in the lid. Do not block them! |
Question: | Just found out that the LOW temp. is 215 degrees, and you can not set it for less than four (4) hours. Does not 215* really overcook a lot of foods |
Answer: | I had a roast in this for several hours and stuck a thermometer into the roast and it read 180 degrees. There was no burning whatsoever and the roast came out amazing. It does take a very long time, though, at least 8 hours. I tried to take the roast out earlier and it was too tough, but putting it back in for the 8 hours made it much more tender. |
Question: | is this made in USA |
Answer: | The cooker is handcrafted in the USA and made in China. |

Product description
A saucier’s shallow dimensions come in handy when you’re making mashed potatoes or other creamy foods that require lots of stirring or whisking. That was the thinking behind the design for this Saucier. Like its big brother the sauce pan, it has a wide mouth that helps reduce liquids and thicken sauces. As part of our Copper Core collection, this saucier features a thick copper core, 2 layers of aluminum, and 2 layers of stainless steel. This unique construction makes it ultra-responsive to heat, disperses heat evenly, and creates unmatched, long-lasting durability. For an added touch of elegance, it has a polished surface with a starburst finish and a cutout that shows off that lustrous copper. At 2 quarts, you can make enough sauce for all your pasta and have plenty to spare. Like all our bonded cookware, it's handmade in the USA at our Canonsburg, PA factory with ultra-durable materials that'll last a lifetime and never go out of style. Handles & handle loops are made in China.

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the diameter of this lid |
Answer: | The external diameter of the lid is 8 3/4” and is the same size as the lids for the 3- and 4-quart sauce pans. |
Question: | Will this work on an induction cook top |
Answer: | All of the copper core collection work extremely well on Induction. I also use the Cuisinart French Classic non-stick frying pans as I prefer non-stick for frying. All-Clad for everything else. I can't believe anyone still uses gas, Induction is so awesome. |
Question: | Is this perform well with ceramic electric range |
Answer: | Yes works fine. Unless boiling water I would not set range above medium. The stainless steel is very conductive |
Question: | Please tell me the actual diameter of the bottom because I use induction. Thank you very much |
Answer: | I purchased all three of these pans - 1qt 2qt and 3qt versions. Here are the dimensions I measured: Diameter (outside rim to rim) 7 5/32, 8 5/8, 9 7/32 inches or 182mm, 219mm, 234mm respectively. Diameter (inside top) 6 3/8, 8, 8 3/8 inches or 162, 206, 212 mm. Diameter (inside bottom) 5", 6", 6 1/2" or 13cm, 15cm, 16cm. Diameter (outside bottom flat portion) 4 1/2", 5", 5 1/4" or 11cm, 13cm, 13cm. Heighth (of the pan proper not handle) 2.445", 2.920", 3.815", plus or minus .010". For inside depth subtract 0.080". Girth (for you mathematicians, outside circumference just under rim) 20 1/2", 25 1/2", 27 1/4" or 52cm, 65cm, 69cm. Handle (from rim to tip) 6 1/2", 6 3/4", 9 1/8" or 167mm, 171mm, 232mm. The 3 qt also has a helper handle 1 3/8" x 3 5/8 wide or 36mm x 91mm. I expect minor variations from one individual pan to the next. |

Stockpots are true do-it-alls when it comes to any liquid-related cooking. They have tall sides which reduce evaporation so thinner stocks and soups maintain their light consistency. As part of our D3 Collection, this Stockpot features a bonded tri-ply construction made with a responsive aluminum core pressed together with 2 layers of durable, stainless steel all the way around the surface, for fast and even heat. User questions & answers
Question: | What is the outside depth (from bottom to top rim) without lid? I'm trying to figure out if it will fit in one of my deeper drawers |
Answer: | It's 5.5" |
Question: | Besides the weight (2 lbs less), what's the difference between this pot and the other (same size, 3-ply, etc) that is |
Answer: | The 4508 uses a different kind of stainless steel that is magnetic, therefore it can be used with induction ranges and stovetops. If you don't have or plan to get an induction range, go with the cheaper version. However, induction is becoming more popular and those who have it seem to love it, so think long term. |
Question: | Is this 6Qt stockpot made in USA Pa |
Answer: | Yes. The 7 quart stockpot is also made in the USA |
Question: | What is the actual diameter of the 6Qt stockpot (without handles)? The dimensions listed by Amazon seem to be a little off |
Answer: | The top lip of the pot is rolled so the outside edge to edge measurement is 11 1/4 inches. The interior wall to wall measure is 10 1/2 inches. The bottom diameter of the pot is approximately 9 1/2 inches before the flat bottom begins to curve up to become the sides. For this pot I usually use the 11 inch "circle" on my induction stovetop but the 8 1/4 circle works just fine also. |

Product description
When it comes to making sauce, gravy, or other liquidy foods, the saucepan is your go-to. Its high, straight sides lend itself well to frequent stirring or whisking required for making sauces, limiting spilling. And the smaller surface area retains heat well and limits evaporation. As part of our Copper Core collection, this saucepan features a thick copper core, 2 layers of aluminum, and 2 layers of stainless steel. This unique construction makes it ultra-responsive to heat, disperses heat evenly, and creates unmatched, long-lasting durability. For an added touch of elegance, it has a polished surface with a starburst finish and a cutout that shows off that lustrous copper. At 4 quarts, it’s big enough for those no-fuss one-pot meals and leaves you with enough for next-day’s lunch. Handles & handle loops are made in China.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this actually dishwasher safe? I've always been told exposed copper can never go in the dishwasher and this has that exposed copper band |
Answer: | It is technically dishwasher safe but the manual states that the copper will tarnish if used in the dishwasher. I would personally not put these in the dishwasher. |
Question: | where is this 4 pt saucepan made |
Answer: | These are the best made pans that All-Clad makes. ALL Copper Core Pans are made in the USA by real craftsmen. They are not cheaply made by any possible stretch of anyone's imagination. To hold on in your hands you KNOW you are holding something valuable. If you love your cooking buy the 4 quart saucepan first. Using it will make you a believer! BTW the cover for this pan is also Made in USA. It is MUCH different that the cover that comes with the STEAMER insert that you can buy separately. The STEAMER is not Copper Clad and the steamer and cover are Made in China. IMO not the same level of quality of the USA made pan and cover but the steamer insert works good with this pan. |
Question: | Does the handle stay cool |
Answer: | The handle on the pot stays relatively cool, but the handle on the lid does not. I have an induction cooktop which heats the pot instead of the cooktop surface. I can't answer for a traditional cooktop. I love these pots even if I do have to keep a potholder near me. |
Question: | I can't decide between the All-Clad copper core 3 and 4 quart saucepan/pot to cook boiled potatoes for 4 people. Anyone have suggestions |
Answer: | I would suggest the 4 quart. With a group of 4 people you will get more use out of the 4 quart sauce pan for other food usage. I actually have both and use my 4 qt for soups and pasta sauce. |
