Answer:	This is an extra large ironing board and its space is large enough for ironing linens and tablecloths, so the silicon pad does not limit the board surface. On the other hand, we do not recommend ironing clothes over the silicone pad. Also, we recommend raising the silicon pad only for changing the cover.

Answer:	I think it should work. You want a couple of inches to wrap around the board. I really like this pad. Will order it again.
