Answer:	Yes, They are joined. ( One statue equals two sisters joined). I bought one for each of my two sisters last Christmas and scripted their names on the back of each. They both still have them displayed.

Answer:	I think they may have a short note, I'm not sure. There were some other figurines that did but were not as good quality. I purchased two, one for each of my sisters and printed my own sentiment, Then I attached the words under the box lid of each . PS, They came packaged very well as if I purchased them in a specialty gift store. Hope this was helpful.
