Answer:	Yes, you can use lava rocks. Lava rocks are about 1/2 the weight of fire glass so you'll only need about 20 lbs. of lava rocks. Another option is to use lava rocks as a base, then cover it with fire glass.

Answer:	Mike has provided the complete answer. I just want to add a little more detail to his recommendation. 1. The air mixer valve should be 90,000 BTU's. (Search B01MTU7BKL on Amazon to find this product) 2. Search Amazon for a "high pressure adjustable regulator" - there are several on Amazon in the $20.00 range (make sure it's high pressure and adjustable). 3. The 3/8" to 1/2" connectors are NPT (National Pipe Thread) standard - this is a tapered thread standard for gas connections. You'll need this to connect the adjustable regulator to the air mixer valve. It's best to bring both parts with you to Lowes or Home Depot to find the right adapter. 4. The 1/2" Meridian Blue tempered fire glass is by far our most popular color/size. (Search B01MDOO2VD on Amazon) The pan drops into your fire pit / table opening and is secured by its own weight. There's no nuts or bolts needed to fasten it in place. The opening should be about 1" larger than the pan size (instructions are included with the pan).

Answer:	Not at all, it’s long enough so not near fire while flipping logs. Unless you leave it in the fire for a very long period of time.

Answer:	Solid and very sturdy.
Question:	Does this arrive in separate pieces or one complete metal piece
Answer:	The top handles and the tool ends are detachable with removable screws. You don't have to worry about it , it's super easy to assemble
Question:	Do the handles screw firmly onto the tools? I'm afraid that the handles will loosen during use
Answer:	Yes, I tightened them down pretty firmly. I have had sets in the past that don't fit snug . I like this one , it works very well, I would highly recommend
Question:	Will it work for outdoor? If left out year around will it rust
Answer:	It would work outdoors, but rust with time unless it's repainted and sealed (especially where the pieces are screwed together) as necessary. You may want to look for something made of stainless steel if you want it to truly be rust proof.
