Answer:	Each hole is slightly wider than a standard incense stick. They are about an inch deep, so if you're using tall sticks they lean enough that this will not catch everything. As far as I can tell there is no lid. It is one piece. I've had this for a while and I use it more for decoration than actual incense burning as it is more tedious to clean than other things.
