User questions & answers

Question: Why doesn’t outside temp register? Inside temp is working I also put in brand new batteries
Answer: Check that your batteries are charged to 1.5. If you don't have a way (voltage meter) to check, try brand new batteries that are new off the store shelf. For the sync-up process, the batteries must be 1.5 or better. It's the #1 problem we see.
Question: Hello. . . i love this weather station but the aa batteries in my remote die very quickly. what batteries work bet for you
Answer: All outdoor sensors should use Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries. Alkalines will freeze, rechargables start at a max of 1.4 v and drop to 1.2 v fairly quickly and do not like extreme cold. They do not work in Iowa winter. All my external sensors use AA Ultimate Lithiums and last the entire winter, even at -15 below zero F. I change them out every Fall.
Question: Looking to mount this unit flat on a wall. Wtith power cord attached, would this unit sit flush against the wall
Answer: Yes, it can be wall mounted and sit flush against the wall even with the cord attached.
Question: Is it necessary to buy the la crosse technology tx141th-bv2 wireless outdoor thermo-hygrometer $19.95 to make the wireless forecast station wireless
Answer: If I may say, you might want to reconsider a product from LaCrosse. I have had an s85814 weather station for about 3 years and it currently serves as the night light in my bedroom. It never worked and LaCrosse wasn't much help. The temperature outside was always off by close to 20 degrees. Don't do it, you'll regret it!

User questions & answers

Question: What is the screen size
Answer: Hi Barbara. Thank you for your inquiry on the La Crosse 308-1425B weather station. The actual screen size is 6.5H x 3.5W. If you have any other questions, please let me know.Regards,BarbaraWeatherBuffs(928) 635-1088
Question: Does this show Barametric Pressure
Answer: This weather center is equipped with 24 hour pressure history graph/tendency arrows. The bar chart indicates the air pressure history over the last 24 hours. The columns represent the pressure change (in Hg or hPa) readings at specific times. The "0" is equal to the current pressure and each bar represents how past pressure was compared to the current pressure. Read the graph from left to right. If the bars are rising, it means that the weather is getting better due to the increase of air pressure. If the bars go down, it means the air pressure has dropped and the weather is expected to get worse from the present time. A Forecast tendency indicator, above the pressure history graph, indicates rising, steady and falling pressure. It's a great unit for the money. The color graphics are awesome. I've found the info to be very accurate and, as a result, very useful.
Question: Will this show the outside dewpoint temperature
Answer: No. This model does not have a dewpoint sensor.
Question: Does this run on A/C plugged in or only on batteries
Answer: Yes. It runs on the included A/C plug. 3 AAA batteries are for back up. It will still run on back-up until they die out.

User questions & answers

Question: how long do the batteries last on the rain gauge
Answer: Yes, it will work. You would need to remove the spacer included in the iAVS1, and then set up the Eufy Genie in the iAVS1B in the same manner as the Amazon Echo Dot.
Question: What's the truth? what's in the box? does base station run on aa batteries? does it have any remotes? what batteries do they use
Answer: Neither: the clock is separate from the Dot, but runs on batteries in case of power failure.
Question: Is it Atomic, and does it have an adaptor plug, Please. Thanks
Answer: The iAVS1 is a louder speaker manufactured for the Amazon Dot. It also has a clock in the front of the unit
Question: Could someone post a link with instruction how to link this unit to a Weather Undeground account
Answer: Hi! The radio controlled clock made for the US rely on the signal from the radio station WWV http://www.nist.gov/pml/div688/grp40/wwv.cfm to keep it accurate. The station is located in Ft Collins, Colorado. The signal will not reach Africa. However, the La Crosse clock will work like a regular clock without the control signal. it may be a little faster or slower without the signal but you can adjust it yourself in a month or so if needed. Some atomic watches is designed to receive the time signal in different countries but I don't think the La crosse clock has the ability to do so. The outdoor temperature of the clock can be set in F or C, it should work fine in any country.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this unit wall mountable
Answer: Yes, the Fluance Bipolar speakers are rated 8 Ohm.
Question: Can you read it in the dark? Is the display illuminated
Answer: 11 inches across the back. 10 inches high and 6 inches from back to front. Work good for my back speakers.
Question: Does this product give the high and low temperatures for the last 24 hours
Answer: Hi Elijah. I actually got 2 sets of 2 for a total of 4. This due to a new rfeceiver that allows 2 side surround, 2 rear surround to go along with 2 subs two front tower speakers and the center channel speaker. All are being used. One important thing to remember, and I'm not sure whyh it is so, but you will notice a difference after the speakers are broken in. This takes probably 15 to 20 hours of listening before they reach their full capability in sound potential. I think they are awsesome, both for performance and their quality in construction, not to mention the fair price for a setr of two. That is why I bought 4 and I am certainly happy with them. Hepoe this helps, Elijah and I wish you and your family a safe and properous Chirstmas and a happy new year.
Question: does this stay lit all the time or do you need to press button for lighted display
Answer: In the video about the product posted above it shows you CAN wake up to music by setting the Echo Dot to wake you by playing a playlist of music. Set up a playlist via the Alexa app or website and you're good to go.

User questions & answers

Question: What are the power requirements on the DC side? I'd like to use this in an RV
Answer: Tin.
Question: Can you use 2 sensors, one outside for weather and one inside fymold
Answer: As of 2012, many mercury-in-glass thermometers are used in meteorology; however, they are becoming increasingly rare for other uses, as many countries banned them for medical use due to the toxicity of mercury. Some manufacturers use galinstan, a liquid alloy of gallium, indium, and tin, as a replacement for mercury. The typical "fever thermometer" contains between 0.5 and 0.3 g (0.28 and 0.17 drachms) of elemental mercury.45 Swallowing this amount of mercury would, it is said, pose little danger but the inhaling of the vapour could lead to health problems. I don't know for a fact when the Winchester thermometer was made.

User questions & answers

Question: How do you set the time & date
Answer: It is not wireless. But you can buy a wireless device from there website but it is expensive.
Question: Is the clock an atomic clock? does it have to be manually reset for dls? does it keep accurate time
Answer: You have to plug the USB into your computer if you want to update actively online, and you can purchase as many monitors as you want. If you didn't want to have to plug it into your computer, you'd have to get the Bridge unit off the Acurite website to upload directly through your router.
Question: Is the clock feature atomic
Answer: Yes, it does. For us, the high temperature is overstated because the unit is in an open, unshaded area, and we live in a warm climate. I don't like the fact that the rain, wind and temperature gauges are all in one unit, because for rain and wind, the unit needs to be in the open, but that means the temperature ends up showing too hot because it's in the sun. Right now it's 69, per my old gauge that's in the shade, and per my phone app and the radio, but the AcuRite says it's 88, which is far off.
Question: Is outdoor sensor included
Answer: From what I've found, you have to order the bridge unit separately directly from AcuRite. I got this as a gift for someone and it pisses me off that you need an EXTRA piece of equipment to get your info on your computer, tablet or smartphone. AcuRite definitely should have included that tidbit in their info about this product.

User questions & answers

Question: Should I test the outdoor low temp (below 32F) before the time window for simple return expires? I think yes
Answer: The base station runs off of 5 volt power with an included power supply. The base station uses AA batteries as a backup, but the display goes dark without the 5 volt power applied. The package includes the two remotes shown in the picture and they use AA batteries.
Question: Does this show Sunrise sunset to the second based on exact address
Answer: Time and date are updated from the National Institute of Standards and Technology servers via your wi-fi connection. Without a wi-fi connection, you must set time and date manually. The unit comes with a 5V power supply. Battery is only used for backup and will not power the display and wi-fi.
Question: Does Oscar only dress for the current temp or the average forcasted high or low for the day
Answer: I tried many times and failed. I contacted La Crosse and they told me that the C83100 is not compatible with Weather Underground. So, I guess it is not possible to join the network. Here is the response: "The C83100 is not compatible with weather underground. I apologizes for the inconvenience."
Question: Is the outdoor sensor waterproof
Answer: It looks like a photo with the product shows female RCA connections on the back of the speakers.

  • Sets time and date to nist with Wi-Fi connection
  • Indoor and outdoor temperature (f/c) and humidity with records and alerts

User questions & answers

Question: does it have barometric pressure
Answer: No, there is no barometer. The wind reading is not instantaneous and it seems to be an average over a short period of time so gusts are not the right speed. If you use the app you will see that everything is averaged out over time periods which is to save storage and data transmission rates. All these deficiencies are acceptable for home use but not for a "true" weather station which are easily 10 times or more the cost.
Question: Can it calculate wind chill
Answer: I guess you could call it wind chill, there is a “feels like” number.
Question: What kind of batteries do the sensors use? How long do they last in freezing temperatures
Answer: Per the manual, Good fresh batteries are important for best performance in your sensors and as backup in your station. Batteries with an expiration date of 2020, were manufactured in 2010. We recommend batteries with an expiration date no more than 6 years in advance of the current year for best performance. A minimum voltage of 1.48 v per battery is required for best performance. Lithium batteries may be used in outdoor sensors. Alkaline batteries for the station. There is no listing of life of battery in cold or freezing temperatures. It would depend on the condition of the battery.
Question: Do you have to hook this up to a "smart"phone thing/ap in order to get the correct wind speed or will it work on it's own? own
Answer: No smart phone involved. The wind speed gizmo outside talks from the outside sensor to the base inside.
