I wash any new bandanas before I wear them, found that out the hard way one time, bought a green bandana at a local store (without washing it before wearing it) to keep sweat from going into my eyes at work one summer and when I took it off my bald head was green from the dye bleeding onto me as I sweat. So I wash them before wearing and wash them every time I wear them. I wear them daily in construction. They are thin but still hold up well
