Answer:	Most likely not as they would get caught up in the netting. It does however work great for shrimp. we had about 8 dozen in there for 4-5 hours and only lost about 5-6 total. The nice thing is not having to stick your hand in the water all night and just lifting the rod in the back will pull the whole net full of shrimp up to the surface where you can just grab one then release the rod and the bait submerges on it's own and even pulls the lid closed. We put a glow stick in the holder on the underside of the lid and it illuminated the bait most of the night.
