| Answer: | The active ingredient in liquid bleach is sodium hypochlorite. The active ingredient in this product is sodium hypochlorite, so it's the same thing, not an alternative. I don't understand why people would pay $17 for 1/4 gallon of bleach and some added surfactant myself. I can buy 5 gallons of 12.5% sodium hypochlorite locally that is a day old or less (bleach degrades and weakens over time and is typically too weak to sanitize around the house about 90 days after it is bought off the store shelf per EPA standards). For the same $17 and have 20x as much, fresher and MUCH stronger than what this is for the same money because this product is probably about 5% or less sodium hypochlorite. I didn't see what percentage of active ingredient was in this product, and I'm assuming that is on purpose. |

| Answer: | You want to use a 3M 6900 series full face mask with cartridges for mold and chemicals. You will also need to get a heavy duty Tyvek suit, shoe covers, and disposable gloves (you can buy a set with the suit, booties and gloves on Amazon for $10). I also suggest getting a ULV cold fogger and fogging the whole room, as live spores from the moldy ceiling will have dispersed over everything in the room, including the walls. If you don’t treat the whole room, these live spores will reinfect the space. Once you are done treating the room, remove the body protection immediately outside the room and dispose in a heavy contractor trash bag and take the sealed bag outside. Before removing the body protection, take your mask off and put in a trash bag, take it outside as well. Remove the cartridges, and use RMR Botanical to spray the mask to kill any live spores. Once the room is fogged, use a shopvac style vacuum with a HEPA filtration system and dust bag to vacuum the room top to bottom to remove dead spores. Once finished, take the vacuum outside and discard the dust bag in a contractor trash bag as well. |

| Answer: | I am not sure what you mean about the drain in shower. However I have used this product every where! Its amazing. I use in the shower, sinks, on hardwood floors, baseboards, patio furniture, and on my vinyl siding on my house. I think they are just advising you to test it in small area and stating that certain materials might counteract with this product. I will say, make sure you house is well ventilated when using, because it is really potent. |

| Answer: | If you need to treat a large area, I suggest using a ULV cold fogger. I purchased the Longray ULV portable electric cold fogger to kill toxic mold and spores under and in my house. We used the spray bottle of RMR-86 to clean and remove the source of mold (inner Ceramics crack in toilet was leaking water under the floorboards and house for a year), then sprayed RMR-141 directly on the wood where the fuzzy green/black mold was growing in addition to a 100% wide perimeter (about 15 sq ft) all of this within a containment tent. We still have 3/4 of a bottle left. After it dried for a couple days, we used Rot Terminator to harden and seal all of the wood. We then used the ULV fogger with RMR-141 to fog the crawl space under the whole house and a basement studio apartment where a sewer ejection pump failure resulted in a sewage water flood. A water restoration and mold remediation company hadn’t completed the necessary steps in a timely manner and didn’t complete demolition of the total directly affected walls and floor. Upstairs we used the ULV fogger with RMR Botanical to fog 3200 sq ft of living space, every inch, including all furniture, wooden blinds, window treatments, inside cabinets, closets, mattresses, etc. We only used 1.5 gallons. Then the whole house was vacuumed and wiped down to remove the dead spores. I am highly chemical sensitive due to suffering from acute mycotoxicity, and because I am a scientist/doctor who has also studied homeopathy and naturopathic medicine extensively, knew the ingredients of the botanical spray would be safe for me AND kill molds/bacteria/viruses. |

BTW, I've had better luck finding this in Home Depot, vs. Walmart or any grocer (much like the N95 masks back in March). |

| Answer: | Updating my answer from early this month -- it's easier to find what I was talking about by simply searching for 35605 (there is even some on Amazon right now @ a reasonable price, ~$55) instead of CLO 35605. The refill bottles don't need to be diluted or anything, just pour them into your old container (or the crappy store brand that you may have been using since this has been impossible to find). One gallon is 128 fl oz, so the 4 gallon $55 refill is essentially 8 of this product, with the hassle of having to use a bit of storage space and refilling container. One gallon by itself is saving money vs the current price for this offer (~$35). But Tilex makes a super fine present to friends and relatives, or give it to your neighbors to impress. Old answer: I couldn't find this for months so I went ahead and bought a four pack of the one gallon "commercial" refill bottle. You can find it by searching for "CLO 35605" (eg using Google "Shop"). I already have a couple of 32 fl oz bottles so it isn't too much of a hassle. Including shipping it was approx. $50 for four gallons. The expiration date on this stuff is generally listed as a year (sodium hypochlorite begins to degrade after about 6 mo, loses ~20% potency per year). It should work fine for ~18 months (unless you're buying from one of these resellers & get a product that's already a year old *cough*). The single gallon refill container may be easier to find now -- the cheapest I could find about a month ago was ~$25 after shipping. I just bought the 4 gallons for $50 and gave some to my parents. It was a great Christmas "present" considering how hard these are to find at regular price. Laugh. Anyway, best luck for finding the consumer product in the US would probably be a store like Home Depot. But keep your old containers in the meantime (I never had much luck with those awful store brands). =) |
