If you check the directions they mention this location or the ceiling. If you pose the question re. lighter or heavier than air on a browser (my google result https://www.google.com/search?q=does+carbon+monoxide+settle+at+ground+level&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-1-ab ), you find items like this one that discusses Myths vs Facts - http://healthybuildingscience.com/2013/02/22/carbon-monoxide-facts/ that states "Myth - Carbon monoxide is heavier than air, so CO detectors should not be placed on the ceiling or high on the wall. Fact - CO is slightly lighter than air. However, studies have shown no significant difference in measurements based on what height CO detectors are mounted. Different manufacturers recommend different mounting locations, and you should always follow the manufacturers’ recommendation. CO has a molar mass of 28.0, and air has an average molar mass of 28.8. The difference is so slight that CO is found to evenly distribute itself indoors. It is worth mentioning that CO indoors is usually generated from incomplete combustion (heat source) and therefore traveling in a warm air stream. Warm air is more buoyant and does rise. Coupling this fact with the knowledge that CO is lighter than air… I personally have my CO detector located on the ceilings. Hope this helps. |

| Answer: | Both, but you may not be able to get the Utra-Dishmate much longer. I certainly don't have the whole story. In brief, the Earth Friendly Products company is a family held company that manufactures "safer", largely plant based, earth friendly products, in an environmentally friendly way, at 4 facilities in the US. (They have an office in Greece- this is a Greek-American family and the products are sold in many countries around the world.) The business is evolving. It made/makes products under the brand names "Earth Friendly Products" and "ECOS" products. It is rebranding the Earth Friendly Products as ECOS and I believe intends all its products to be under the same brand, ECOS. Earth Friendly Products Ultra Dishmate and ECOS Dishmate have slightly different formulas. The surfactant cleaners in these products are coconut derived (sodium Coco sulfate, Cocamidoproplyamine oxide, Coco Betaine) and are listed in a different order on the different products, which usually means they are in different amounts in each product. The ingredients are usually listed in order of the amount in the product. So Earth Friendly Products Ultra Dishmate has more Coco Betaine and ECOS Dishmate has more sodium Coco Sulfate, etc. Both have other ingredients: preservatives, fragrance.... Earth Friendly Products has an antibacterial preservative, methylisothiazolinone (MIT), in it. The ECOS product does not have it but has other preservatives. MIT is a chemically synthesized compound that is very widely used in water-soluble cleaners and other products to prevent bacterial/ fungal growth in the solution. In recent years, it has been shown that it can be an allergen and a skin irritant in high concentrations when left on the skin. MIT can also kill cells in culture but remember it is supposed to kill bacteria and fungi. The concentrations in the Earth Friendly Ultra Dishmate are not in the range that usually causes problems and Ultra Dishmate is not intended to be left on the skin. However, the company removed MIT from their products and reformulated some to use other preservatives. You may read that the Earth Friendly company removed the MIT from its products because of a class action suit. This was filed by some folks, one of whom got a nasty skin reaction to one of the Earth Friendly laundry detergents. The suit was on the basis that the company labeled its product "All Natural" and yet it contained a preservative, MIT that was chemically synthesized. The Earth Friendly Products company voluntarily settled and voluntarily agreed to remove MIT from its products, to reformulate and to change the labeling so it didn't say "All Natural "or "100% Natural". (It is common practice for manufactures to include small amounts of preservatives, etc, in their products and they may not even necessarily include them on the label as Earth Friendly Products does.) This is a good company: they pay their employees double the going minimum wage, make significant charitable contributions, don't test on animals, exclude known problem ingredients (1,4-dioxane, cocamide-DEA, etc), use 100% renewable energy to power their plants, and manufacture with "minimized waste". I like Dishmate enough to buy it on line when I can't get it in my local supermarket, it works and I have never had any problem. |

| Answer: | Detergents don't kill microorganisms as such, rather they inhibit their growth by mechanically washing a large number of them away along with skin oils and food residue. The remaining few bacteria have little left to grow on. Similar to how hand sanitizers kill 99.9% of bacteria. Dishes and hands are sanitized, not sterilized. This detergent works very well as a degreaser. I'd say as well as traditional products like Dawn yet without the dyes, frangrances, etc. plus it's biodegradable. Hope I've answered your question! |

| Answer: | I like this detergent because it holds it's soapiness for a long time and rinses quite well. Any detergent acts as a surfactant (removes dirt and bacteria from a surface). Seventh Generation seems to do this quite well. I love that it is not expensive and I use it for dish washing and wiping up the kitchen area. Some grime needs to be soaked for a while, as it would for most detergents. Just take your time and use a bit of elbow grease for heavy grime. I am particularly happy that the one I bought does not have any funky artificial odor. |

| Answer: | That cycle may allow the product to be slightly more effective. We have heard from some users who have said the did this and were happy with the results. Anytime you get your machine to work in concert with our cleaner, the end result should be better. Remember to always do another regular load of laundry using your detergent so any foul odors may be rinsed away after we disturb the bio-contaminants with the Ahh-Some Cleaner & Deodorizer. |

| Answer: | I does NOT smell like bleach, however, it does have a very strong, clean smell, almost like an industrial clean. This is fine for me because I want my machine clean. This item has been the #1 product to deal with any kind of smell coming from a front load washer. I would suggest running a rinse cycle after to dilute the scent left behind and get rid of any possible residual cleaning debris. Leave the door open afterward and the smell will dissipate after a few days, the drum will remain smelling clean without any moldy or mildew odor. The product works. Those complaining just don't want to wait a bit to use the machine again or run a rinse cycle after, which is fine, that's their preference. I have used many machine cleaning products, none work like this and the ones with pretty scents leave a film all over the machine and cause more mold to accumulate. |
