Answer:	I use them on my stairs in the pool all the time, works awesome. I have gently used them on the vinyl and haven't seen any damage. I wouldn't use too much pressure as it may damage it if it's vinyl. Yellow stain is usually metal in the water. There's a chemical for that, I very hard well water, been there, done that too, LOL! :-)

Answer:	I find this brush to be very durable and easy to use. I like the stiffness of the brush because it really helps to scrub away the grime and it rinses easily.

Answer:	No metal, no rust ring. It's a sturdy plastic (no smell, though) and silicone trimming on the handles and the bottom ring, setting it up from floor just a bit and keeping it from slipping in the floor. The plunger bowl part seems a combination of silicone and maybe other petroleum but is must more pliable than most plungers of years ago (though still just sturdy enough).I am very pleased with this. The plunger will show dust and will need dusting about every week or two (what doesn't?)and the brush still looks new after months of weekly use. Plunger works very well, indeed.Still, with any tool that gets wet, even though this has a very nice "house" to sit in, I prefer to first let the brush dry by hanging over the toilet bowl for a while, then into the trash can to sit on a paper towel for a bit. I do not want any water collecting in the "house" as mold can grow from that.The plunger gets a good rinse and a drip dry in the waste basket, too, with paper towels, and then when setting it back in it's "garage" I tip it open to the air for a couple hours. A paper towel, folded, in the "garage" or brush holder could also work and then be removed after tool has dried.

How stiff are the bristles? ...I need for brushing upholstery on outside chairs

Answer:

I am not postiive about all fungal or human infections by organisms but our number one cleaner for lab use was the original PINE SOL and it was definitely a mold and fungal cleaner. I buy this for cleaning solid wood paneling for a house built in the 50's that not sure but believe or worry it's 16 plus 24 high walls and open beam ceilings also could harbor some types of fungus. And also I have used orange wood cleaners but they can be a problem and attack finished wood or dry it out. So this over the original is the smell and it does not seem to be quite as harsh on the skin. I used to avoid wearing gloves but developed some nerve and health conditions that might point to use of chemical use in my lab work which involved insecticides and herbicides but hey I was using PineSol original every day. And when another scientist decided to challenge how clean my lab was he had a rude awakening. To be fair he put out similar agar plates to read the amount of airborn contaminates mainly mold field and my main lab and the wash room for cleaning carts and trays came out almost negative. His lab not so lucky but he wasn't using the lysol and I always scrubbed any trays and carts down when he returned them after borrowing too. So that settled that nonsense. He had a brandnew lab so I think it went to his head that his was cleaner because it was new. The funny of course was HE grew the molds in his lab for inoculations and I did the opposite in attempts to make sure there were no infestations due to lack of hygiene in the lab itself. So as to this PineSol I think I would trust it might kill the athletes food on shower floors and stalls and do not forget to clean the floor outside shower and always tell users to place a towel on the floor to stand on. Heavy duty hand towels usually work great and can be sanitized between each use in the laundry. Btw I did get such great results because we swiped the trays and carts down with straight from the bottle PineSol so that no doubt really killed everything in it's path. Did not rinse usually and it did not effect our planted material for testing. A more delicate plant than our use might have had sensitivity issues but we used a thick planing media so that also buffered any residue effect. Always fully dried between use and that too helped. So apply this with a spray bottle to the walls and floors and wait at least 30 minutes before wiping or running a rinse towel over it and I bet it kills the mold. Another sites info on product clearly stated it kills mildew and mold so perhaps check out PineSol's home page if they have one on line. Good luck.
