Do you suffer from Histamine Intolerance or Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS or MCAD - Mast Cell Activation Disorder) due to an allergic response (could be a number of things but every person has different triggers)?

With histamine intolerance one may not be naturally producing enough DAO enzyme (diamine oxydase) to neutralize histamine around the body. When one consumes higher histamine containing foods histamine levels rise and cause itching of the skin during the day and even at night (nocturnal pruritus).

Mast cells may have histamine release and cause itching around many areas of the body (shoulders, elbows, back, wrists, knees, etc.)

It is possible due to reaction in either of those conditions, the skin begins to dry out while remaining itchy to which the condition would and could be described as eczema.

Extremely troubling for parents with children who have either of these conditions as their children will not be able to get enough sleep. Oral antihistamines or creams are given by doctor as treatment but some of these products block the natural production of diamine oxydase (DAO enzyme) when they are used.

Histafen uses histamine calming essential oils that calm mast cells, do not increase histamine levels nor promote the release of histamine while moisturizing the skin.
