There are also two pieces that are part of the shoe itself that the spindle snaps into. You just have to pull the spindle with the empty tape roll toward the front of the shoe and up and it will pop out, allowing you to change the tape and snap it back into place.

Answer:	When the top of the egg cutter is in the closed position, the pin is underneath the top, and cannot be reached unless the cutter is opened. The cutter can be easily opened by a small child, so you'll want to do this yourself, or be right nearby. When the egg cutter is fully open, with both hinged tops in the open position, the pin is seen to be protruding very slightly from a raised red circle that is about 1 inch in diameter. I ran my own finger over the pin, and it barely protrudes from the surrounding red circle, not enough the scratch my finger unless I put the weight of my arm behind it. With a push, though, the pin could scratch a child.I would suggest that you might order the cutter, examine it yourself in light of your children's ages, and return it unused if you have safety concerns.If your children are old enough to understand and follow instructions, you could certainly allow them to use the cutter's central cutting device, which is made of plastic, and is rounded and not at all sharp.I hope this is helpful to you.

Answer:	I have done so, with no ill effects, but it doesn't clean in the crevices as well as manually with a clean soft toothbrush.

Answer:	Yes, the wires slice cleanly all the way through the egg. The wires go down into the base. When I use it to make egg salad, sometimes the little pieces go down into the base so it doesn't cut through those, but those are really little pieces after I've run the egg cutter through it in 3 different directions. If you are slicing the egg once or twice, you shouldn't have any issues. Overall this egg slicer has been awesome and I would recommend it.
