It is in the up position (12 o'clock) for normal operation. rotates the lock to the correct combination and push the black button to open the lock. While holding the button down, turn the screw slot to the three o'clock position. I don't remember turn it clock wise or counter clock wise. After turning the screw, rotate the combination to the new number and then rotate the screw back to 12 o'clock. release the button and rotate the tumblers. The new number should be set then. Answer:	If you want something more useful than "the cover just pops off" (eyeroll) ... there are four tabs all behind what are 4 nubs on the outside of the cover. They're really hard to get at once it's installed. If you just used the adhesive like I did, you can pry off the whole thing first, then it will be a lot easier to "pop off" the cover so you can mount it with screws.
Question:	Does this anchor require screws or is it held on using suction, because, at my university, we're not allowed to drill holes into our dorm furniture
Answer:	It can be mounted by screws or the very, very sticky adhesive that comes on it. It is not a suction mount. Your school might not like the adhesive if they don't allow screws. If you are using a laptop at school I would recommend just looping the security cable through something that cannot be removed or something the cable can't be slipped off from.

Answer:	We're glad you asked! Honestly even with our relationships with OEM's we have trouble getting information about which of their devices have which lock slot. Your best bet is to go to HP's support website, type in the exact model name (e.g, 15-cs0003ca), then click the "User Guides" link, then open the Maintenance and Service Guide file. Around page 4 you'll see the security slot type. With the 15-cs0003ca (which is a Pavillion 15) page 4 stated a Nano Security Cable Slot which is our model #K64444WW. When I look up a different model (15-cc060wm) the guide states "Security Cable Slot" which is vague but probably means our standard Kensington lock mechanism will work (like this model K65035A). So, because of the wide variety of notebooks, and even Pavilion models, be safe and check the support website. Thanks!

Question:	Is it MacBook Air compatable
Answer:	If it has a "Kensington Slot", it should. The slot is typically located on one side near the back or on the back edge of the computer. It is about 5 or 6 millimeters long, and about 1 mm wide, with rounded corners. I've never tried a Macbook, but I've used these cables on at least 30 different computers of varying brands and thicknesses, and have yet to find one it wouldn't work on, unless it didn't have the slot.
Question:	For Macbook - Does this fit in the USB, Ethernet, Firewire, or Thunderbolt slots? Newest macbook does not have ethernet & firewire
Answer:	The tip of the lock is T-shaped. This part goes into an ovoid shaped hole in your equipment. When you unlock the combination, you will be able to twist the T-shaped tip 90 degrees which secures it inside the hole. If you can't find the hole, find the documentation for your device and look for something called Kensington Lock in the diagram. Laptops, PCs and extrernal hard drives usually have a Kenington lock port somewhere on them.
Question:	Does this fit a 13" MacBook Pro
Answer:	Hi Ivy, Replacement keys can be ordered only if you have the locks’ key codes. If you have this detail, register your locks and codes on Kensington's website which will give you the option to reorder keys. Answer:	Hi, Dell made a decision a couple years ago to change to a unique slot, which is a wedge lock design. We designed two skus that work with Dell's new design: part#K64440WW is keyed, and part #K64442WW for a combination lock.

Question:	when the lock is in the slot, is it loose or able to wiggle at all? that's the issue I had with the kensington brand lock
Answer:	ALL Vaultz® products are made with an MDF core. The main frame of our Vaultz® products is a wood MDF board. The MDF is covered with a PP laminate (a Prop 65 approved laminate). It is a safe form of a plastic PVC, similar to vinyl. The Vaultz® cases are then trimmed with metal rails, chrome corners and locks. The front and back panels are not magnetic. Thank you!
