Question:	Would you recommend this for eyes that are dry and tired after computer strain
Answer:	Yes, very much so. They were recommended to me by one of my eye doctors for MY dry eyes. Most of the over the counter eye drops contain alcohol, or some other drying agent that initially feels good, but after a little while your eyes become as dry or dryer than they were before using them. These Systane drops do not contain any of these drying agents---alcohol or other. It is also better to use these more often than not, as dryness can & will create minute scratches on the eye-- again--as told to me by my eye doctor.
Question:	Is this preservative free
Answer:	A Systane bottle containing MORE than one dose in it has "POLYQUAD (polyquaternium-1) 0.001%" as a preservative. (With any medication, all multi-dose eye drop bottles contain preservatives.) The single use Sustame vials are preservative free. However, even though I usually have a sensitivity to eye drop preservatives, I can use the multi-dose bottle of Systane drops without any trouble. I did an experiment where I used drops from a Systane multi-dose bottle in one eye and drops from a Systane single dose vial in the other eye. After 2 weeks, there was no difference in my eyes!
Question:	What is the difference between this and the regular one, what does ultra do extra
Answer:	The Ultra has a higher viscosity ("thicker"). I find it much more soothing, and don't have to apply it as often. There's also an Ultra gel drop that is even "thicker" and really great when the air is really dry, or indoor heat or air is blowing. Nice to have options to choose from! Btw, my ophthalmologist recommended Systane Ultra, and my eyes feel much better.

Answer:	This whole "preservative free" business is very strange. I have been purchasing the "old" packaging for several years now and purchased it specifically because it was PRESERVATIVE FREE as recommended by my Ophthalmologist. Now the new packaging doesn't say Preservative Free on he front of the package but if you take time to look all over the outer box it says that it is PRESERVATIVE FREE IN THE EYE. What does THAT mean. So I called the number on the package and was told by the person who answered the phone that it is the same formula but it can't be preservative free in the bottle because you are always taking the lid on and off the bottle. So it is preservative free as it hits the eye. Figure that out. I can't. The "old" bottle which is what they say is the same formula doesn't say anything about not being preservative free as it hits the eye. So I went to the website where it says, "NOW you can get preservative free in a bottle." WHAT? I thought it was the same formula. Was it not preservative free before, but just said so on the package? What they are claiming now is that the only TRUE Preservative Free eye drops are in the individual vials which of course you can purchase. I used to buy those before they changed the vials so that now you cannot put the top back on if you don't use the entire amount. I don't know what everyone else thinks, but this whole thing sounds very "fishy" to me. I haven't opened the new box I just received from Amazon and don't think I will do that until I get an answer from my Ophthalmologist to see if she can shed any light on this situation.

Answer:	They do blur my vision for a few (2-3 ) minutes. I usually relax with my head tilted back to really get the benefit from the drop because the drop relieves the burning immediately to my irritated dry eye.

Answer:	Yes, but as the fifth Inactive Ingredients. Active Ingredients, eye lubricants, are carboxymethylcellulous sodium, glycerin and polysorbate. BF has severely dry eyes and so far Retaine MGD has proven to be her go to drops. Nano Tears work but are only single use.
Question:	are they preservative free
Answer:	Yes they are preservative free, but that’s not necessarily a good thing. The manufacturer says you should only open a vial, use 1-2 drops per eye and then DISCARD the vial and all remaining lubricant. The reason is that because there is no preservative, any bacteria that gets into the opened vial will multiply like crazy and within a short period of time could become enough bacteria to create an eye infection after repeated use of a vial. These drops are far better than most others on the OTC market, but they are very expensive, especially if you need to use more than one vial a day for blepharitis, etc. At $24 a box (retail price) you are purchasing just 1/5 of an ounce (!) of lubricant in 30 delivery vials — that would be a bit more than a teaspoonful of lubricant total.

Question:	What is expiration date
Answer:	The preservative they use (apparently sodium perborate,) is called a "disappearing preservative" by other manufacturers that use it. It apparently decomposes soon after you put it in your eye. This is apparently better then "the old" preservatives, especially benzalkonium chloride" (BAK), which I and most other folks with bad dry eye avoid "like the plague". It is hard to avoid BAK. ALL the cheaper drops seem to have it. Strange that the manufacturer avoids this issue. I presume it is because of copyright or trademark issues to do with wording. If I remember correctly "Genteal" was the first to use what it described a a "disappearing preservative" in about 2010 or so. It is of note that any preservative could probably cause some folks problems. "YMMV" (your mileage may vary : ) There is only one (that I know of) bottled artificial tear product that is unpreserved. I tried it and had a "3 out of 5 star" experience as the bottle (which had a special "filter" built in to prevent contamination) was pretty hard to use: it required a LOT of "squeeze" (& I'm a guy with pretty strong hands). Many users so complained. It was too expensive and troublesome. The whole preservative question is very important. You can cause blindness and other horrible outcomes really quickly using a contaminated product (which the preservatives help to prevent). EXERCISE ALL CAUTION with eye drops! If you think you have damaged your eyes with drops, see an eye doctor without delay.

Answer:	I checked out the box. Lanolin is not listed as an ingredient. Mineral Oil is the only one listed.

Answer:	Both Kroger and Rite-Aid websites say it's made in the USA. I would tend to believe it. It's pricey bc it's useful and probably bc it IS made in USA.
Question:	does this replace the thin hair like layer to the eye as advertised
Answer:	The liquid is CLEAR.....not particularly "thick". My 3 eye doctors mandate I use it because it's "preservative free".
Question:	The box label lists active ingredients as "mineral oil (20%), white petrolatum (80%)." is this the bottle brand or the ointment brand
Answer:	It is not a matter of how much is in the vial. Yes you can use 1 vial for both eyes. However, advice stating that you can put the cap back on (eve if refrigerated) is inappropriate. Single use vials are the best because they reduce the risk of contamination causing infections. Additionally, multi use bottles contain preservatives which when used 1 or more times a day are not good for the eyes either. Take good care of your eyes be sure get medicine/medical advice from your opthomologist/MD or nurse practitioner rather than random people on Amazon. Also you can contact any of the manufacturers about the reasons for not recapping.
