Boletus Luteus mushrooms is a wild-grown dark mushroom with a deep and earthy flavor, commonly called the brown or Chilean mushroom, sorted, washed, trimmed, and air-dried. There are a good source of vitamin, minerals and protein. These are 100% all-natural with no added ingredients or preservatives.



These chopped mushroom flakes are used in a wide variety of applications for rich-flavored mushroom for including sauces, gravy, soups, vegetable stock, broth and stews, pasta products, meats and sausages, seasoning blends, salad products, pot pies, and casseroles and ready meals.





Prep Instruction Ideas:

Add these mushrooms while slow cooking soups, stews, sauces, casseroles and other foods with sufficient liquid content. In other applications, hydrate by using 1 part dried mushroom and 5 parts water. Simmer for 10-15 minutes. Add water if necessary.

Yields — 1 oz equals about 1/2 cup dry. Generally, air dried vegetables double in volume when hydrated.

Dry/Fresh Ratio — 1 lb of air dried boletus luteus mushrooms, once rehydrated, equals approximately 6 lbs of fresh prepared boletus luteus mushrooms.

Storage Suggestion — Best if used within 18 months. Store tightly sealed in a dry location away from sunlight.

Tip: For ready to use mushrooms, soak the dry mushrooms in a sealed container and store in the refrigerator.

Answer: The label says no preservatives and to finish as soon as possible. I imagine if refridgerated it would keep well a few weeks.

Creamy Mushroom Soup

  • 3 cups of Harmony House Dried White Mushroom Slices
  • 1 cup of Harmony House Dried Shallots
  • ½ cup of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • ⅓ cup sherry or Madeira
  • 5 cups mushroom-soaking liquid
  • 1 sprig fresh thyme or rosemary
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup cream (optional)
  • Chopped fresh parsley leaves for garnish

1. Soak the dried mushrooms and shallots in 5 cups of hot water until soft, approximately between 5 to 15 minutes. When tender, remove from bowl, reserving the liquid.

2. Add butter to a large pot that can later be covered over medium heat. When it melts, add the herbs and garlic and saute, stirring occasionally until soft, about 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper and cook for 20 minutes until brown.

3. Add the sherry or Madeira to the pot and cook, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom as the liquor starts to bubble. Add the stock or soaking liquid and bring to a boil, then lower the heat to a simmer and cook, covered, about 15 minutes.

4. Reduce the heat to low, and puree the liquid with a hand-held mixer to desired consistency. Add cream, if desired. Garnish with parsley and serve!

Answer: None have expiration dates.The Shallots and Carrots are good, but avoid ALL their mushrooms - totally flavorless. I was married to a 1/2 Italiana for nearly 28 years, and lived with a first generation Italiana for 8 years.Buy Porcinis only from Italia. Never from China!retired expatriate
Question: What are the ingredients in this mushroom powder
Answer: I’m sorry I can’t inform you of this as my container is in my cabin in Alaska where I spend the summers. Where I am not at currently, but I can tell you they are delicious and I’ve almost used up both bottles and will order more for this year. Great in sauces and soups.
Question: Would this taste good if I added it to canned beans
Answer: Sorry that the answer possibly did not attach to the specific product. It was button mushrooms. My last container from them also was below par -- pretty flavorless -- and that was directly from Harmony House so no chance of it being old. Also, a container of freeze dried strawberries from them did not hold up as long as it should have done. Maybe it is just poor luck for me, or maybe they had a rough time when those were made, or maybe it just is due to normal product variation (and having grown food for the family when young I know that is normal) but I was not thrilled with my last two or three purchases from HH.
