Answer:	No, the brace in the palm area is plastic. The description says metal, but the fabric wore through on mine and you can see that it is clearly plastic. This does allow a bit of movement for the wrist, which is okay for me. If you need to totally immobilize your wrist, you would do better with a metal brace.

Answer:	My hands are pretty big and they fit fine, the adjustable straps really help. Just make sure to measure your wrist before getting it. The brace fits 5.25"- 9 Inches” (Measure wrist at smallest points).
