Question: I want to make make malted milk shakes and don't want to buy the carnation gmo brand. can i use this syrup to make mailted milk shakes
Answer: To answer this 3 year old question accurately ..you need (One Part) Non Diastic Milk Powder i use King Arthur brand sells here on amazon .....................then you need (2 parts)powdered milk ..and (2 parts sugar) i use brown sugar you mix that into your milk shake you can also add a tiny bit of melted butter also or buy king arthur malted milk powder here on amazon or at the KA website all king arthur products are gmo free
Question: It is very thick and sticky, how do you get an exact measurement and get it into the dough
Answer: You could try a couple of things. First and simplest would be to spray your measuring container with vegetable oil or the the like. The malt, like honey won't adhere to the container and should completely pour out. A second more accurate One way would be to get a syringe wide enough opening to pull the thick syrup up or you could remove the plunger and pour to fill from the top and squeeze out the exact amount you need. A larger opening syringe for measuring amounts like 1/4 or 1/2 half cup you might want to get a 100 ml irrigating syringe or larger. For smaller amounts you'd be better off with a syringe approximating the amount you need. Some syringes have stepped tips so you can make the opening as small or as wide as you need. Amazon has all sized and types of syringes.

Answer: I keep my refrigerated as it tells you too. I had it for 3 months without it going bad. I used it up by then. It's like honey but doesn't crystallize.

Question: I know its not refundable but what happens if they arrive broke
Answer: Mine arrived broken, January 2020. When you go through "returns", it tells you the item is not returnable. I selected that I needed more help, and I chatted with the Amazon Assistant. I let them know that it was unacceptable packaging, and the jars arrived broken. They said a refund will be issued in 3-5 days. It's unfortunate that they have not improved their packaging, though. Mine arrived with some bubble wrap in a plastic envelope!

Answer: Don't think so
Question: Is it the same as barley malt extract
Answer: i use this in making bread and bagels. Not exactly sure if there is a difference between malt extract and malt syrup.
Question: What is the shelf life
Answer: The last bottle I purchased had an expiration date over a year away. Unopened, it is safe for at least a year. Once opened, it needs to go in the fridge where in my experience, it can stay safely for months.

Answer: I would not recommend it be used in brewing. It would be simpler to purchase a malt extract that has been manufactured specifically for home brewing
