Answer:	Short answer, Yes. Long answer. Absolutely positively yes. You can even use a POE Injector. It does however beg the question as to why you would have thought that it won't work. The systems NVR regardless of how many POE ports it has on it can support up to 32 cameras. IE: if you have 20 cameras and a 4 port NVR, you will need 16 more POE injectors or 16 more ports on an POE switch or any combination that equals 16.

Answer:	Short answer, no, but a compatible DVR will supply the live feed to your monitor, either directly from its VGA and/or HDMI port, or over a network and the internet with an assortment of remote viewing software apps likely to be included with the DVR. This camera supports 3 or 4 different protocols but ideally get a DVR that supports the camera's 1080p mode. If you don’t care about recording and plan on only one camera, you can get a 4 port DVR that supports 1080p for around $100 and you don’t need to install a hard drive in it. There may be more exotic solutions that would allow you to skip the DVR but they are likely to be more expensive and hard to source.
