Wi-Fi Setting with smartphone

Turn on the Base Station (after beep sound), OR (Long press the SET button for 5 seconds, release the SET button when you hear 2 beeping sounds), now the base station has entered the Wi-Fi connection mode, the Red light is slowly blinking (2s/time).

Please change the EZ mode in the upper right corner to AP mode.

Troubleshooting (Sensors or Remotes NOT working properly)

Initialize the Base Station by Long press SET button for 10 seconds, release the SET button when you hear after hearing 5 beeping sounds in a row. This procedure will clear all the sensors, remotes, and Wi-Fi settings of the base station.

Answer:	An event will trigger the camera(s) to take a snapshot and send it up to the cloud. A 30-second recording will also occur per camera. As the camera has some memory in it, the 30-second recording will consist of 5 seconds before the event and continue for another 25 seconds. Event recordings get stored on the 16GB USB flash drive that gets plugged into an OPU USB port.Manual recordings are saved to the photo album of the device being used, be it smartphone or tablet. The recording is a 30 second video clip.

Answer:	Yes it does, as long as you have a fairly basic wireless router that is connected to your ISP. I have a powerful firewall and it prevented the unit from communicating with the internet.
Question:	If not using the adt services, what kind of alert does it send for self monitoring? sms? mail or ip call? can you arm and disarm the system remotely
Answer:	I have SMS and email alerts. I have not looked into IP calling and you can arm and disarm the system remotely. If you are replacing an existing SmartThings Hub, you will need to recreate all customization (Routines, Room, Scenes), you will also need to exclude all your devices from the old hub so you can add them to then new hub. Only ADT sensor will work for monitoring your house. If you have old motion/entry sensors they will not trigger an ADT alert and I have lost the ability to trigger an SMS from these old sensors as well. Additionally, there is now a hard copy activation code that you receive that you need to keep if you plan on adding additional users. I hope that helps. I am satisfied with they hub without ADT monitoring, but it was a lot of work (10 hours) to have the system in an acceptable state.

Answer:	No. It connects to the Ring base station which must be connected to the internet. If you subscribe to the premium monitoring service and your internet service is lost, the base station will attempt to connect to the internet via cell service (AT&T) until your local internet service comes back. If you're like I am where there is no AT&T tower nearby the cell service won't work.

Answer:	I could get ring to work with my existing door, motion and glass break sensors. However for the powered sensors (motion and glass break) I used the old alarm system to power them and Ring Retrofit to monitor them. Might not work with all sensors, but it worked with mine. It would be nice if the Ring Retrofit had and option to provide power, but at least the workaround was not that hard.

Answer:	It mainly works for alarm systems. It has its own phone service and number so that it may communicate with your cell phone. In other words it is your alarm systems phone service so that it can call you when triggered . You only need about 500 minutes or less because you wont be talking. Only $5

Answer:	It works with the actual alarm itself. a GSM security alarm. It is a sym card like a cell phone sym card. it is actually phone service. It has its own phone number and service. You place it in your alarm just as if you would place it in your phone. hope it answers your question. It also give you 500 minutes. Every time your alarm goes off it will call and text your phone from its phone

Question:	What specific devices will this work in? Most so called "home phones" offered by cell companies say they do not work with security systems

if the Alarm System was set-up to report activity via text messaging then users will be notified via text messages. Another example, every time the system is Arm/DisArm, a text or voice call is transmitted remotely depending on how the system was set-up.
