Question:	What would i need for 2 doors
Answer:	Without the separate Connect device, the August lock relies on Bluetooth for communications. That means that you have to be within Bluetooth range to use the August app to lock/unlock the door. If you want the lock to use WiFi for communication, you need the Connect device. WiFi is needed to control the August lock remotely (out of Bluetooth range) including using Alexa or other devices to control the lock.
Question:	Is it more reliable than the 2nd Gen? My 2G version failed all the time, replaced twice under warranty, and still not perfect
Answer:	It’s a lot better than the 2G. I’ve had it for 4 months and I’ve had no problems whatsoever. The remote access is instant as compared to the 2G which took like 30-60 seconds. I definitely recommend it

Answer:	My cat weighs between almost 15 lbs. If she grows any more, I would probably consider the extra large Van Ness covered litter box. I am pleased with this product and would definitely recommend. I would order again but, if need be, in the extra large. Hope this helps. Question:	Do I need this in order for the lock to work
Answer:	No. The lock itself works over Bluetooth which has an effective range in a house of perhaps 40 ft. The Augusy Connect connects to the August service via your home wifi and then uses the lock's Bluetooth connection--in short, it's extending the range from ~40 ft to Internet-infinite; in theory, if both you and your house have an Internet connection, you can open the lock from anywhere in the world. If you only care to open the lock when you or someone else authorized is stood in front of it, then the lock alone is enough. That said, I'm on my 3rd August Connect and it's also beginning to misbehave disconnecting at random--don't buy the Connect if the lock alone meets your needs.
Question:	What is the power input rating (voltage) for the August Connect
Answer:	It says 110 - 240v 50hz - 60hz.
Question:	Do you need to have August Connect to be able to use August Smart Lock? If not, what does it do that Smart Lock doesn't
Answer:	The August lock by itself opens via blue tooth. Meaning you need to be within 15-30 feet. The connect makes it wifi, but it's buggy at best. The device connects to the lock via Bluetooth, and then you connect to the device via wifi. It works 1% of the time for me. Wait for an update.

Answer:	This unit barely controls one door lock, much less multiple.

Answer:	This is really intended to weld a hem of a banner. I think the hems would hold up in 20 mph winds. However if you’re using this to hang a banner, you may be better off with grommets and hooks or using heavy duty Velcro (depending on the surface you’re trying to attach it to.)

Answer:	Yes, most of the Kwikset single cylinder deadbolts work fine. I had an old Kwikset lock and it worked fine with my August smart locks of the 2nd and now 4th generations. I believe that August has a list of tested locks on their website. but many other Kwitset lock, not listed there, work as well.
Question:	My front door is sticky and when it's only partially closed the deadbolt can be sticky. Will this be a problem
Answer:	Yes, it will be in my experience. You need to solve it first. I invited a carpenter who solved this problem for my front door before installing the August smart lock.

Answer:	Be real careful because if you use it to suspend a heavy picture from a sheet rock wall, the bond to the sheet rock's outer painted surface is so tight gravity gravity may pull paper off the wall and your picture will fall. I do no know what correct weight loading you should when suspending pictures, but I would think that 3 inch long piece of tape should never be used to suspend any picture which weighs more than 4 pounds.

Answer:	This unit needs to be wired. This unit may need an updated transformer to 24 volts if it is a long run like my existing doorbell was, or may be was just old. meter showed it just under spec. Anyway new transformer did the trick, well within spec. This unit has a small rechargeable battery that will last 30-60 minutes if the power goes out.
