Answer:	Yes. And, you can even put this control on the knobs if you want. Press Menu, System, Track Knob Option, and choose Mixer. Then you can set the knobs on the home screen to be trim, fader, or panning.

Answer:	Its design is specifically oriented around location sound recording for film and tv, not multitrack studio recording for music. The film sound workflow is very different - you always record one pass at a time, and you want to always just move on to the next take when you press record again. You would never do overdubbing on set like your talking about. There are other similar recorders out there that *are* designed for what you're looking for-- and conversely, because of how they're designed (they way you're looking for), you wouldn't want to use them on a film set.

Answer:	Yes, you will want to use a software like Skype or Google Voice. You can connect the headphone output of your computer to one of the H5 inputs.

Question:	Is the battery life significantly improved over the H4N? I like my H4N, but it's terrrible on phantom power for battery life
Answer:	I can't compare it to the H4n. I got about 8-10 hours on the h5 using alkalines and phantom being on for nearly all of that time. It gives very little warning when the batteries are about to go.
Question:	Judging from the pictures it looks to be made of plastic. Is this fragile or robust
Answer:	It does not have a plastic feel. If you have ever held an H4n than this will feel somewhat the same. The H5 has a slim, but sturdy feel. It's not the kind of item that would break easily. The thing with the H5 is that it is so cool looking that you're always worrying about getting a single scratch on it. Fortunately, the rubber like exterior seems to handle scratches pretty well. Highly recommend that you get a screen protector as soon as you take it out of the box. I've held both the H5 and H6 and while the H6 feels slightly heavier and more professional with all the knobs, nice looking finish and a great color screen. The H5 feels lighter, has great build quality and you are more likely to use it because it light enough to mount on a rig or carry around... Without the fear of it breaking. I've bumped it on a few corners with my rig and it has held up pretty well. The only thing that feels like plastic are the adapters, but that applies to both the H5 and H6.Hope that helps.

Answer:	The biggest change is in the headroom. These preamps and converters are cleaner and offer more gain than the 2nd gen. These pres also come equipped with the "Air" mode which adds some high end to model the ISA preamp circuit. The 3rd gen 18i20 also has 16 ADAT I/O channels as opposed to the 2nd gen's 8 channels of ADAT. Answer:	Hi, There have been several improvements made to the 3rd generation range of interfaces. Firstly, all of the inputs on the 18i20 3rd gen feature Air mode, emulating the classic sound of our original transformer-based ISA preamps. Secondly, the 18i20 3rd gen now has the ability to switch between Main and Alternative speakers connected to it using a front panel button. Thirdly, we have added a built-in Talkback function (allowing the engineer to talk directly to the performer), a Loopback function (allowing audio from one application to be recorded into another without connecting cables), Dual ADAT ports for recording 16 channels of audio into the DAW at 96kHz, optical S/PDIF and removable rack ears. Lastly, the specifications of the preamps and conversion have been improved even further - for example, the dynamic range has been increased to 111dB and the gain range is now 56dB instead of 50dB on the 2nd generation. Question:	Do the recordings delete when the batteries die
Answer:	I think what happens is that the recording is still resident but just ends with the *beep beep* of the battery dying. I've not paid attention lately to it, though.
