Answer:	Mine are in a regular 5.5” clamp light with a porcelain socket. They put out a fair amount of heat so I would avoid plastic sockets.

Answer:	I don’t see why not. They put out a fair amount of heat, so I’d keep a close eye on the temperature until you get a feel for them. Per the manufacturer they should only be used three hours a day to maximize their life, so I make sure to also use a basking bulb or some other form of heat/light source along with them. They have been a great product for me andI would highly recommend them. Great for the price.
Question:	can this recorder take memory card
Answer:	This is what I use for a heat lamp. I have an above tank set up for the basking area. If you have a floating dock I'm not sure this would be warm enough.

Answer:	Correct. For my snapping turtle I use these three hours a day for my snapping turtle combined with LED lighting and a basking bulb when it’s cold. These bulbs get her up and moving on chilly mornings.

Answer:	There is an unacceptably long delay for it to start recording, up to 10 seconds where it says "please wait." Also clunky and clumsy to use, poor interface. I returned it and got an Olympus VN-541PC which has a button you can slide to ACTUALLY start recording instantly.

Answer:	Enter the recording options, select AVR settings, then select AVR on. When you enter the recording mode, it will automatically start recording when it detects the sound, and it will stop when it does not detect the sound. It also has a sensitivity setting, you need to set it to the lowest level, otherwise, even your breathing sound can be recorded.

Answer:	I have never tried. I don’t know the answer. My GUESS is that it would, assuming it is linked to the same ID and email.
Question:	can you charge it from electric outlet without the cradle
Answer:	Not so well. Characters would randomly but frequently appear at the end of a document.
Question:	Do I need to purchase any additional accessories in order to charge the device or transfer the voice files to a computer
Answer:	I just transcribed an hour-long interview into Dragon. I used my iPhone to record the interview, then downloaded it to iTunes. I selected the recording in iTunes and clicked "transcribe"on Dragon. It took about a few minutes, but transcribed the whole hour. I copied it and pasted it into a WORD doc. Then, of course, I had to go through it and add punctuation and revise scrambled words. It took awhile, but sure beat me listening to the recording and typing it myself. I was interviewing two people. The one with the strongest voice had the least transcription errors. Next time I do this, I will pass the iPhone to the speaker to ensure a clear recording before transcription. This process required Apple products. Perhaps it can be done on other types of equipment as long as they have a record feature and some way to capture the sound recording on the computer.

Answer:	It fit my standard zippo shell...........it is a bit difficult to use compared to a regular soft flame pipe lighter.....as far as lighting your pipe........checkout vector lighters.
Question:	Can you replay recordings? And how if so
Answer:	It's a "clicky" push button. I currently have a sore thumb and can still push it. In my opinion the original flint and wheel might be easier than the button. The flame comes out the side and not the top like the old lighter insert. I bought it for in my hiking stuff. If your friend doesn't have useable thumbs? I'd think they could still use it.
