Answer:	And no there is no 12v plug or anything. Just has a positive and negative for wiring to your power supply of your choosing. And yes to needing to be wired up which is easier than you think.

Answer:	The CB has two wires built in so all you would need is a cigarette lighter socket adapter and wire it up. The wires are about 4' long so you should have no problems where you mount it. The wiring is very easy - that's the set up I have so I can unplug and remove the CB when I'm just driving around locally.

Answer:	It needs an antenna regardless? There is no internal one? Is it ok to leave the small antenna inside the vehicle? Like in the trunk or glove box?

Answer:	No you have to plug it in charge it all the way up or wire a 12 v power adapter from the battery in your truck and you can charge it there
Question:	Would this be a strong enough cb for listening to close (< 1 mile) truck drivers communicate while on the highway without an added antenna
Answer:	No, it will not likely work. The metal body of the vehicle shields you from the signal of others. I take mine while I am driving on the Interstate. The only thing I have ever picked up is when the truckers are right next to me while I am sitting in traffic and not moving. When I am outside the vehicle, I pick stuff up within a mile or two. Most of the truckers are all using single sideband radios, and you won't be able to pick them up with this radio at all.
Question:	what is the exact range this can be used if indoors like say im in a apartment my brother is like 2 miles away in a house will it go that far
Answer:	There is NEVER an exact range for radio communication. The FCC rules require that CB's put out no more than 4 watts. I have accidentally talked to a guy in New Zealand from Ventura, CA and also from there to Florida. Other times you can't talk across town with the same radio. In your situation, if the two of you are in rooms with windows that face each other you can probably talk with two of these radios and no outside antenna. But put a small magnet mount outside your window, on a pizza pan (steel) and run a wire from your pizza pan to your radio and connect it to the outside of the antenna connection and now you have an ok base station antenna and ground plain, and will be able to talk much further.
Question:	Has anyone used the uniden pro401hh? if so what do you think of it. what is the range of the device and do you think it would work in the woods
Answer:	I have used this. In an open field was able to get .4 miles. I have not been in the woods yet.

Answer:	Measuring using internal SWR and external SWR, both measurements are equivalent to almost identical. But the internal SWR meter has a feature where it produces continuous sound when the measurement is 1.0/1.0, and it produces discontinuous beeps when measurement is not 1.0/1.0. This is an excellent feature from President, it does not require to read the display when tuning the antenna length for SWR. No, an external SWR is not needed, should not waste money for one

Answer:	Depends on the antenna you use. I used this radio several times in a caravan with another person who used a Cobra CB with roof-mount antenna, as well as some semi trucks.Here's what I found:Included "rubber duck" antenna -- probably 1/2 mile to 1 mile on straightaway, a few car-lengths on curves. (use "low" power to reduce echos)With 29.5 inch mag-mount CB Antenna from RadioShack (fine-tuned with SWR meter after install), about 1-2 miles (use high power)With 102 inch chassis-mounted CB antenna from RadioShack (fine-tuned with SWR meter after install), I reliably and comfortably chatted with trucks at 5-7 miles or my driving buddy at 2 miles (use high power)For comparison, we tried using FRS "family" walkie talkies and they would only work when we were immediately following each other without any curve or vehicles between us.
