You will get some good ideas how to make it work. All ham mobile antennas are to short for ham bands so they have a coil to fool the antenna length to match 50ohms. I use ham sticks for each band I want to use. I have one for 20m and 40m. They are fiberglass loaded wire with stainless steel whip on top. They are $20 each. You will need a mount either straight, ball, or 3 magnets. I used a straight mount on the top of my van. Mobiling down I40 near Winston-Salem NC and talked to Spain. With a kenwood TS-480HX 200 watts. |
