Answer:	As the iPhone 5 and Sounddock III both have 8-pin Lightning connectors this Bluetooth music receiver with a 30-pin connector would not be appropriate.This receiver has an Apple 30-pin connector and should work fine with any Dock that has a compatible 30-pin connector for an iOS device that is also able to charge the device. The Bluetooth receiver gets its power from the Dock. I've had no problem with either a Bose or an iHome dock. In fact, it goes between the two Docks without having to re-pair the BT receiver.
