Answer:	The bearings are extremely easy to adjust and are designed to be slightly tightened. A miniature screwdriver and a needle nose pliers are all that is needed. loosen the outer ring and then tighten the internal screw 1 or 2 degrees. They should not be tight, just tight enough to not jiggle. I own 8 technic 1200 turntables a few Vestax turntables and a few belt drive audiophile belt drive turntables. All the dj style turntables need to have bearings adjusted periodically. Completly Normal. Standard Headshells are readily available. Audiophile headshells are also made.

Answer:	I think the best answer to which table is "best" depends on your preferences. Am not a DJ, home listening only. Recently traded a good sounding ATLP 1240 (never used the internal preamp) for an excellent sounding Pioneer PLX 1000. The AT's internal preamp seemed add a "cloud" or "veil" to the sound in my system. Even when switched to the phono out position the signal still passes through the AT's preamp circuitry. The Pioneer with straight analog output (no internal preamp circuitry to mess with the signal) sounds much "cleaner." In my opinion as a user of both, if "good" vs "excellent" sound works for you get the AT. It's a better value than the Pioneer.

In the case of a worn stylus, the cartridge must be re-tipped by a specialist technician. Re-tipping ranges from about $400-$800 depending on the stylus used. Remember that a diamond stylus is the single most expensive component of any cartridge (MM or MC). That's why replacements seem expensive compared to the price of a new cartridge.

Answer:	45 rpm records are cut as microgrooves as are LPs, so this cartridge is perfect for them, too. With 78s there are two problems: first, the size of the stylus is too small for this kind of discs and so will run too deep in the groove, producing much more noise than inevitable; second, all MC pre-amps use RIAA filtering to correct for correct frequency response, which is perfect for LPs (33 upm) and Singles (45 rpm), but by far not so for 78s, which were recorded without or with a different treble equalizer setting than necessary for RIAA standards. Preamps to compensate for this are only avalable for MM systems like Shure, Grado, Ortofon and Stanton products, which all have replacement styli to fit 78s grooves.

Question:	What is the signal to noise ratio
Answer:	I'm not sure what the exact ratio is, but this turntable (at least mine) is NOT silent, in terms of mechanical noise. I can hear the motor running while standing in front of it, but I cannot hear it when I am sitting on the cough approx. 9 feet away. I have an old Acoustic Research XB, which is also a belt drive, that runs DEAD silent. If it weren't for the sound of the motor running, I'd like this table a lot more.

Answer:	You do not have to use the built in preamp, there is an on/off button on the back of the turn table. If you turn the preamp off, you can plug the turn table into the actual PHONO stage of your integrated amp or receiver. This is how I am using it.

Answer:	I understand you may be able to play Traktor on it, but Serato is fantastic and is made by Rane. I personally would by a Traktor board if your set on using Traktor. I personally like Serato better. My cousin uses Traktor and I have played on the S8 Traktor mixer which is really nice. I almost bought it but when I saw Pioneer used Serato and Pioneer being the top DJ equipment out there, I went with that. Plus I had used Serato in the past and really luked it.
Question:	Does serrate work with iTunes, ie playlists etc. Most of my track are meta dated in iTunes...havnet got time to re-do whole collection
Answer:	You can download serato dj from serato.com now you don't need the controller until your ready to play, yes serato dj can see tracks in itunes,but you still have to analyze tracks and put beat grids on them. The controller will play itunes tracks, in serato dj settings turn on iTunes tracks, look up any controller on youtube.

Answer:	The "X" line is the newest line of Audio-Technica turntables. The LP60X is an update of the popular AT-LP60, the ATLP60X features a redesigned tonearm base and headshell to improve tracking and reduce resonance. Noise is further reduced by the inclusion of an AC adapter that moves the AC/DC conversion outside of the chassis where its impact on the signal chain is limited.

Answer:	All turntables degrade the performance of vinyl media. The better the counterbalance of the weight of the tonearm, the slower the degradation. The direct contact between the stylus and the grooves in the disk is abrasive. A heavy tonearm is like 100 grit sandpaper and a light tonearm is like 600 grit. I transfer all my LPs to tape and CD. Most of my LPs have only been played two or three times in decades. Limited use and proper storage keeps my collection pristine.
