User questions & answers
Question: | What is the max distance for connecting this speaker to a bluetooth device |
Answer: | If I am not mistaken, I believe it is approximately 100 ft. or 30 meters. Of course you have to consider walls, turns, etc. |
Question: | can you take calls from this speakers and talk |
Answer: | No, this speaker does not include a microphone. The JBL flip 4 did but the 5 no longer includes this feature. |
Question: | Can I answer my phone with this speaker |
Answer: | I'm with JVF here...one of the reason I chose this model, is it doesn't. My current speaker does, and it half pi_ses me off, every time a call comes in, cuts the music out (then I fumble to turn off the BT on my phone so I can answer the call, without everyone within 100ft ease dropping). Thanks JBL!!! |
Question: | Is it loud enough to be heard on a boat |
Answer: | If you're parked at a sandbar and place it on the dash you can hear it well outside the boat, that's how we use ours and it saves our boat battery. If you're cruising at low speed you can still hear it but its not that enjoyable, and at faster speeds the engine and wind noise will drown it out, hope that helps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these better than the Studio 5's |
Answer: | Wouldn't say that they are better..just a bit different sounding.Eric C |
Question: | Is this only one spreaker or a pair of speakers |
Answer: | Dear Davy,This price is for one speaker.Eric C |
Question: | Would you need a subwoofer with these speakers for rock, I like a fair amount of bass |
Answer: | These generate a lot of bass for their size. A lot of course depends on your amplifier. Also, the size of your room and the acoustics. Too much bass distorts the vocals and overshadows the mid ranges. Unless you like hard rock and or hip hop, these are very good speakers. When you review speakers in a demo room at upscale audio stores with various sources and amplifiers, you will never see a separate sub woofer. Great for movies but not for pure music. |
Question: | Does this speaker need two sets of speaker wire going to it? i think i see two jacks on the back in pictures. wanting to use a sony on denon |
Answer: | Thanks very much for your question. They don't require two sets of wires, however when two sets ARE used in bi-wiring configuration the sound quality is improved. World Wide Stereo is 39 years old and a proud JBL dealer. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Would a 25 watt rms per channel tube amp work with these |
Answer: | I purchased the 580’s, but I would think they would work, |
Question: | What is a good amplifier for these JBL 580?? i have heard that yamaha and marantz are both good and how many watts are recommended |
Answer: | I drove the 570s with avr3700. Sounded great however I don't recommend Harmon kardon amps. Buggy and their UI is horrible. Like almost unusable. Trying to do a source change is impossible without a flashlight. That's how bad it is. |
Question: | Can anybody that purchased these speakers recommend/tell me what cables to buy and whether they need banana plugs or clamp down exposed cables |
Answer: | I use dual banana plugs with these - easy connection. (Like these: https://www.radioshack.com/products/gp-dual-banana?variant=5717654085). As far as cable, I've been using this: https://www.radioshack.com/collections/maker-parts-kits/products/16-gauge-speaker-wire-1?variant=5717683781 |
Question: | Can I use Yamaha RX-V673 for this speaker? Would this be too cheap for this speaker |
Answer: | Thing to note on these speakers is that they run at 6 Ohms. It will drive your receiver harder but will also simultaneously give you more power. Looking at the Spec's of the RX-V673 the dynamic power at 6 Ohms is 170W per channel. This should be able to drive it OK. These speakers do benefit from a capable and powerful amplifier. In my application I have powered them from both a receiver and dedicated 250W per channel amplifier. If you are thinking of getting these I would suggest sticking with the receiver you suggested since it is capable of driving the 6 Ohm speaker. If it feels like they are under-powered you can get a separate 2CH amp and run the receiver pre-outs to it or simply get a more powerful receiver but I think you will find the receiver will drive them just fine. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this offer for single or pair speakers |
Answer: | Pair |
Question: | Are they "power speakers?" As in, could they be connected to a record player without a reciever |
Answer: | The R-14M is a passive speaker that requires a receiver or amp to power it. |
Question: | Would these be good for near field studio monitors or not neutral enough |
Answer: | As far as studio monitors, you are correct, they are not completely neutral. They are very efficent speakers however and far exceed the power ratings Klipsch specifies. Their ideal situation is really for home theather rear or side channel surround sound as effects channels. They also make a very powerful, high-fi bookshelf companion for a mini system. I am currently using them in a 7.2 Atoms setup and they knock it out of the park. If you are truely looking for 1-1 studio monitors, Yahmaha is they way to go but have your checkbook ready. ;) |
Question: | What's the battery for |
Answer: | I believe that's an error in the description. These are passive, wired speakers. I have a pair...they're excellent speakers for the price. |
Product features

User questions & answers
Question: | what comes with the products |
Answer: | just the speakers, non powered. you will need a power amp, also I use a board to plug my puter into. you can come out of puter but you will need a couple steps before you get to the speakers. you might want to look into powered versions. all depends what level and what you are using the speakers for.I have home production studio and have to have some speaker references without blasting the apartment neighbors. |
Question: | Are they self powered? Can I just plug my phone in and jam |
Answer: | self powered only because they must be connected first to an amplifier old school style with a two-lead cable. Phone cannot be hooked up or plugged directly to the speaker. You must first use an amplifier/preamplifier section for processing the signal from your phone. Some speakers have Bluetooth or network capability and are self-powered w/battery. These JBL Control 1 speaker is not like that. |
Question: | how to intall theme |
Answer: | did you get the brackets with them?if you use a drill be careful the plastic is very week.do you have Skype? |
Question: | Are they good as near-field studio monitors for home studio? Do they work with Denon DRA 500ae receiver |
Answer: | I have a recording studio in my home and have been playing and engineering music recordings for 30 years. I bought these as computer monitors in my office - but I sometimes use them to proof a mix. They are nice as an "alternative" to my studio monitors. In my studio I use Mackie HR-824's, Yamaha NS-10's and a pair of Klipsch Heresies to get different "looks" at a mix. The Control 1 has weak/non existent low bass response, so it's not useful as a primary studio monitor. I also find them to be less than flat through the mid-range. So a mix that sounds good on them, can sound "midgange heavy" when you listen to it in the car or any system with a nominally boosted midrange. So I would say, they are NOT very good if you are a serious audiophile or sound engineer and you want to use them as your sole or primary monitors. Where they are good is for mixing a nice punchy bass response(80-200hZ). As a result, I use them to mix drums and bass all the time. If those instruments sound good on these speakers, they will sound GREAT on a high fidelity system. Sometimes, when you mix drums and bass on small speakers, the mix ends up being really boomy and bass heavy once you have subwoofers and full frequency playback. Not so in this case. They have a very controlled bass response. Maybe that's why they are named "control"? So, if you want another set of speakers to check a mix, or if you are doing a lot of drum and bass music, they might be OK. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this speaker sync to my iphone 5 via bluetooth |
Answer: | It will not yet... The app to make the connection is not completed yet as of July15. It can only connect to Anderoid phones. There are several extended range Bluetooth adapters that work well and can be used on any speaker. |
Question: | Is it wire less |
Answer: | The speaker itself is wired to the output from a mixer or something like that. There is Bluetooth control of the speaker (volume and such) along with the equalizer. It's not a wireless speaker though, only controlled via wireless (Bluetooth). |
Question: | I got this along with behringer xenyx 802. but for some reason it is not loud enough (even at max). i'm i missing anything |
Answer: | A lot of times that's got to do with the mixer alone, I use a behringer in church it's a 16 channel mixer, i also have my own Mackie Pro FX 12 for some reason the Mackie happens to be a little bit louder than the other, I am not saying all behringer models are not as good or all Mackie are better than others, it's just something I can't figure out why certain models and brands do not provide a fairly good sound...I would just try the speakers with a different brand |
Question: | this price includes two speakers |
Answer: | The price is for one speaker, the photo just shows the back of the speaker as well. |

JBL EON615
More than just another great JBL sound system, the new EON600 is a true step forward in technology developed specifically to deliver the best sound possible regardless of its application. Completely rethinking how truly good an affordable self-contained, portable PA system can be, JBL engineers purposely designed and built the EON600 from the ground up.
Ergonomic and portable
Enclosure designs have been optimized for ideal acoustic resonance taking advantage of injection molding techniques and mechanical shaping of the enclosures. This results in tremendous increases in cabinet volumes which enable better acoustic performance while maintaining the same footprint. Two intelligently positioned handles make the 600 easy to carry and move around. Integrated hardware mounts, designed into the enclosures, allow each model to be flown when required. And indexed feet molded into the enclosures allow for convenient storage and transport, secure stacking for stage monitor and traditional stand up configurations, and unique acoustic configurations.
JBL waveguide technology
The EON615’s extraordinary performance results from a breakthrough approach to waveguide design. JBL engineers examined the radiation characteristics of the EON’s high and low frequency drivers at 36 different points employing JBL’s exclusive, state of the art measurement techniques, then designed the Image Control Waveguide ensuring the sound radiation and coverage pattern match at the high frequencies, the crossover point and the low frequencies. The result is consistent response throughout its 110 degree coverage pattern. The quality and consistency between on axis and off axis response delivers uniform coverage and high intelligibility throughout the coverage area, which means the EON615’s smooth, transparent sound is the same for the entire audience.
Bluetooth integration
Knowing that fine tuning your sound needs sophisticated yet convenient control, JBL engineers developed an iOS and Android supported Bluetooth v4.0 compliant interface for controlling master volume, adjusting the 5-way, user definable parametric EQ, and saving and recalling user presets.
Purposeful Product Design
The total redesign of the EON platform leverages the latest technologies in cabinet materials, acoustic science, transducer design and user friendliness that delivers the extraordinary quality of a high-end studio monitor in a fully professional, highly flexible, easy to use, portable system for today’s working musicians and sound providers.

Rich sound from compact speakers Planning a new two-channel system or small-footprint home theater? Consider the JBL Stage A130. It's one of the smallest speakers in JBL's new lineup, but it benefits from the company's long and rich history of making speakers. User questions & answers
Question: | How does the sound of these speakers compare to the jbl studio 230s |
Answer: | I didn’t know about 230. |
Question: | What kind of cable do I need to connect these to PC |
Answer: | You will need a stereo audio amplifier between your pc and these speakers. Most computers do not have enough power to directly drive this type of speakers. |
Question: | What are the dimensions of these in inches |
Answer: | 8x9x13inches |
Question: | the pictures definitely betray the dimensions losted here. why give false information? they definitely aren't any one of those dimensions on any side |
Answer: | You have to look well at the pictures. The A130's are located immediately besides the TV. The Klipsch RP-160M are far left and far right to the A130's and look bigger than the JBL but like I said I prefer the sound of the JBL A130. |
