3 best verizon wifi box

Verizon offers a range of Wi-Fi boxes, often referred to as routers or gateway devices, to provide internet connectivity for their customers. These devices are designed to deliver high-speed internet access and are often bundled with Verizon's internet plans. Here are some key features and information about Verizon Wi-Fi boxes:

  1. Router and Modem Combo: Many Verizon Wi-Fi boxes serve as both a router and a modem. This means they connect to your internet service provider (Verizon) and also distribute the internet connection to devices in your home via Wi-Fi or Ethernet cables.

  2. High-Speed Connectivity: Verizon Wi-Fi boxes are designed to support high-speed internet connections, including DSL, fiber-optic, and other broadband technologies. The specific capabilities may vary depending on your subscription and location.

  3. Dual-Band Wi-Fi: These devices typically support dual-band Wi-Fi, with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. This allows for better connectivity in different situations, as 2.4GHz is better for range, while 5GHz provides faster speeds in close proximity.

  4. Security Features: Verizon Wi-Fi boxes often come with built-in security features, such as firewalls and encryption, to help protect your network and connected devices from online threats.

  5. Guest Network: Many of these devices allow you to set up a separate guest network, which can be useful for visitors while keeping your main network secure.

  6. Parental Controls: Some Verizon Wi-Fi boxes come with parental control features that allow you to restrict access to certain websites or set time limits for internet usage for specific devices.

  7. Wired Connections: In addition to wireless connectivity, these devices typically have multiple Ethernet ports for wired connections, which can be useful for connecting gaming consoles, smart TVs, or other devices that benefit from a stable wired connection.

  8. Verizon FiOS: For customers with Verizon's FiOS (Fiber Optic Service), the provided Wi-Fi box is often more advanced and designed to take full advantage of the high-speed fiber-optic connection.

  9. Customer Support: Verizon typically offers customer support for setting up and troubleshooting issues with their Wi-Fi boxes. They may also have user guides and online resources to help with installation and configuration.

  10. Compatibility: When using your own equipment with Verizon, it's essential to ensure that the Wi-Fi box is compatible with their network and services.Verizon may provide a list of compatible devices or offer rental or purchase options.

Please note that the specific features and models of Verizon Wi-Fi boxes may change over time, so it's always a good idea to consult Verizon's official website or contact their customer support for the most up-to-date information about their networking products.

User questions & answers

Question: My family has two appartments next to each other, both separate electrical installations. Would this work if we wanted to split the internet bill
Answer: Yes the EX8000 used as a wifi extender you have the option of having a guest network. You can use same SSID name as your main router or use a different SSID altogether. I did have issues with more than one extender on the same network using same SSID name as main router so I had to change one of the extenders to a different SSID.
Question: Has anyone connected a ps4 of xbox one to the wifi from the range extender? if so, signal and game play any good
Answer: If you mean an AT&T router signal, yes. If you mean cell tower signal, then no.
Question: Does it create a new sid or does it exteneded your current sid, so one does not have to switch to differing networks when in range
Answer: the input voltage is from 100 to 240 volts
Question: I don't understand how some people give this 4-5 stars and others can't get it to work and give it 1 star
Answer: there are 4 ports. I use multiple ones as this is the only system I can find that does not change the network name but once a year I also have one break and have to replace it or hard reset it myself.

Question: does this work up to 400mps
Answer: Yes. Mine clocked up to 900+.
Question: What is the coverage
Answer: Mine is located in the middle of the top floor of our 2400 sq. foot house. The 2G coverage is strong throughout the house and into the yard. The 5G is iffy in the far reaches of the bottom floor. Not sure if that helps.
Question: Verizon is saying i might still incur a monthly router rental fee if i use this router if their billing system identifies it as "verizon property
Answer: I don’t know how that would happen but, I ended up buying a new one but, still from Amazon. So, I can’t be definitive.
Question: Does seller have right to sell this router or will it show up as Verizon Property
Answer: They have the right to sell these.
