User questions & answers
Question: | Does it work with direct tv |
Answer: | I have 8 ports hub instead of five ports hub. I still have the instruction for either of them so the instruction says "Connect one of the Ethernet cable to one of devices then connect to the switch. It states that you can use any one port to connect so there is no special port for connecting the router.Mine connects to #1 port that connects to the router. After connecting to the router, check to see any flashing light on the cable. If the light is still flashing, it should be Okay. |
Question: | Why did the price increase $30 after leaving this item in my inbox overnight |
Answer: | No. Our routers and WiFi app do not require any kind of subscription for any reason. |
Question: | Cual es el rango de alcance |
Answer: | The monitor supports 4K60hz given the appropriate HDMI cable with enough bandwidth is used. (18Gbps or higher recommended) so yes, it should work, given you are using the appropriate HDMI cable. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the D-Link Wireless N+300 Mbps Dual-Band Broadband Router (DIR-815) compatiable with the Centurylink EQ-660HW ADSL Gateway Modem |
Answer: | You can give it the same name as your existing SSID's, or different names for each of 2.4 and 5GHz. The reason you may want to do separate names is that the stuff you're connecting to may keep switching from one to the other, or may act erratically.Screenshot: https://monosnap.com/file/RdZKoejiZlGlgHpWKVjhsgB714o5TsDocs: http://support.dlink.ca/ProductInfo.aspx?m=DAP-1520 |
Question: | Is it new product with original box, manual and cd |
Answer: | You can have multiple extenders that repeat the main router signal to different areas -- extending range in multiple directions -- but you cannot set up a DAP-1320 to become a wireless range repeater to another DAP-1320 (daisy-chained). |
Question: | Is this router a combo |
Answer: | My extender is pretty much equidistant from the router. The extender creates its own separate network so they do not interfere with each other. However, I have to toggle back and forth from the main router to the extender depending on where I am in my house (2 floors, garage, back driveway, front porch) to get a stronger signal. That being said, if you don't mind tapping a couple of times on your wireless device, the coverage is fantastic. |
Question: | Can you name the two bands with different SSIDs? i.e. give the 5gz band it's own SSID, or turn off the 2.4gz band |
Answer: | Yes. After spending over 10 years abroad, any device that states, "100 - 240V 50-60Hz", can be used anywhere there is electrical power. Having said that, make sure you have an adapter that fits the type of outlets where you're traveling. Standard prongs for America prongs my not fit. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the use for that USB |
Answer: | I hope this helps: Compatible with 802.11g Devices - The DHP-1320 is still fully compatible with the IEEE 802.11g standards, so it can connect with existing 802.11g PCI, USB, and Cardbus adapters. |
Question: | Does it wok with DHP-311AV (powerline AV mini adapter kit from D-Link ?) Thanks |
Answer: | I am sure the 1320 will work with the 311, but I don't own the 311. Instead, what I did, is get two 1320's. I put one in my office in the corner of my house with the internet connection and the other over my tv in the middle of the house. The two 1320's talk to each other via the powerline. The tv is wired to the 1320 above it and streams netflix well. And having a second wifi station in the center of the house means that I get strong wifi signal everywhere in the house. Before I got the second 1320, I used to have no wifi signal in my bedroom, which is in another corner of my house far away from my office. |
Question: | Can this router support a 4G usb modem |
Answer: | Sorry, I have not used it that way. |
Question: | Can i use this in my room for my ps |
Answer: | I had a lot of connectivity issues (when using the power line for transmission) where bit rates would drop almost to zero. I don’t know if I had a defective unit or not. I ended up replacing with a dual band wireless router that had a lot less connectivity issues. I would think you would need maximum transmission rates and this power line router probably will not suit your needs. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Our internet service is through a cable tv box and which is connected to the router by a lan cable. does the d-link have a lan connection |
Answer: | Yes. All routers have a dedicated port (WAN/INTERNET) to hook up to a modem.. that's about the easiest hookup to expand wired and wireless service in your home. If you already have another router hooked up to your cable modem, you can hook up the new router's WAN/INTERNET port to a LAN port on the previous router. In this case hook up the new modems YELLOW port to any free port on the Old Router or the Cable Modem.. What's nice about this setup is the USB Extender is already paired with the modem and can be used in any computer to give easy Wireless Access.. In fact, I have a Desktop Computer that has both Wired Connection AND this USB Wireless Extender plugged in and the download speeds are very high.. You may need to go thru the configuration of the Main Modem to set address ranges, etc... but it's not really necessary.. the Network ID and Wireless Password are already provided.. |
Question: | is this product dual band |
Answer: | no it isnt , go with this one. https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-AC1200-Wireless-Ethernet-Router/dp/B0168G0KZY/ref=pd_cp_147_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0168G0KZY&pd_rd_r=57MDJZ60DAZ53X9JZFG7&pd_rd_w=2Cypv&pd_rd_wg=Ilz60&psc=1&refRID=57MDJZ60DAZ53X9JZFG7 |
Question: | Can this router (DKT-408) double up as a wifi repeater for an existing wifi connection |
Answer: | This will not act as a bridge or signal repeater. It has to be directly linked to the internet to transmit signal. |
Question: | Are the antenna removable |
Answer: | no they are not, they are permanently attached to the device. |

Question: | What happens when you connect a hard drive with greater than 500GB capacity? Does it show up at all? Are some of the media files not visible |
Answer: | sorry Mike... I run my office computer, my laptop, the wife's I-pad and my daughter's laptop, often at the same time... with no problem... not sure about the 500 GB hard drive though... we have a really fast signal to begin with, but we can stream/watch youtube... without issues... |
Question: | Are there status LEDs on these new D-Link routers? All I see from the photos are Power and Internet |
Answer: | Status as far as signal strength? No. The power & internet lights do change color (orange to green) when connections are made. I use Ookla Speedtest (it's a free download, just Google it) to test connection speeds. |
Question: | Does it have web browser based setup |
Answer: | Yes - you can access at 192.168.0.1 with any browser. Utilizes the standard D-Link menus they have used for years. Help available within the configuration menus and online. |
Question: | vpn |
Answer: | I am not using it for VPN myself, but it looks like it would be no problem to configure it for that, especially if your ISP is providing a static IP. |
Question: | Does it come with a power adapter |
Answer: | Yes ours includes AC power adapter |
Question: | I have a smart tv that does not have wifi, will this box bring the internet to my tv |
Answer: | No, you will need some kind of adapter to the TV that sorts out TV feeds. I highly recommend Amazon FireTV or Roku for that. This router (box) connects that TV device to the internet, enabling your TV to receive Netflix, Amazon Prime TV, etc. |
Question: | Does this router come with a small stand to prop it up? (so it has a smaller footprint, similar to AT&T modems propped vertically |
Answer: | This one does not have a stand, however it does have a mount that allows you to mount the router to the wall. |
Question: | Is it possible to create 2 independent networks with this router |
Answer: | I don't know. I am not using it now since I got U-verse. AT&T sells their own router. |
Question: | can any body tell me the range for this device please |
Answer: | The specs and features indicate it is for a small home. I would assume that it means a one-bedroom one-level home, depending on whether you have cement or wood-frame, two-bedroom with more of an open plan could still possibly work fine. http://us.dlink.com/products/connect/wireless-n150-home-router/ |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this VDSL |
Answer: | I do not remember but I do remember this device only lasted about 4 months and it burned out. It stopped working. I would try something else. |
Question: | will this extend signal for a roku in an rv |
Answer: | yes, that is a function of an extender whether in a home or RV or wherever. Keep in mind the extender must have a decent Wi-Fi signal to extend in the first place or it will not work. |
Question: | Can this wifi range extender serve as a standalone wireless router or can it only be used to extend the range of an existing wireless signal |
Answer: | I used it with a Comcast Modem, which now has a built in router. The Comcast tech said that using a router such as this is maybe better than using the built in router that comes with their modem, so I did for a while & it works just fine. Then I placed it here to sell it as used in order to upgrade. I think it's just a Standalone wireless router. |
Question: | Can this range extender connect to a linksys router? Also how do i connect it if i dont have the cd to run the software |
Answer: | yes it can but this is not a range extender. This is an older Router. ftp://ftp2.dlink.com/PRODUCTS/DIR-628/REVA/DIR-628_MANUAL_1.20_EN.PDFYou probably want something like this : Linksys AC1200 MAX Wi-Fi Range Extender (RE6500-FFP) or Linksys AC1200 MAX Wi-Fi Range Extender (RE6500) |
