Answer:	If you have an Internet installation (cable or Dish) in one apartment that is connected to a wi-fi router, you would be able to set up and pair the extender in the apartment with the wi-fi router, then plug the extender in an outlet in the other apartment. The extender network is protected with a password so only those who know the PW coils access your network connection.

Answer:	I have been using it for online gameplay and it has worked extremely well. I live in a basement apartment and the wifi wasn't great to play online and it was too far to set up a Ethernet cable. I have been using this both for wifi on other devices and put it close to my Xbox so I could hardwire it and noticed SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENTS. Ping dropped from over 300 to 45

Answer:	Dan Blake has the correct answer if you want to use your existing SSID. You cannot set it up that way (same SSID) using the WPS method. You'll have to use a second computer or device (I used my phone). Additionally, you'll need to also use the same password(s) for your existing SSID(s) and restart Wi-Fi (let it reconnect once) on each device to get a seamless network. If you want new networks, you can name then anything you want and set whatever passwords you want.

Answer:	When it works, it works great. When it doesn't work, it's a worthless brick and customer service is absolutely reprehensible. The customer service line (since it isn't listed on the website is 888-638-4327) and the phone tree is rage-inducing, and the hold times are beyond ridiculous. I've been trying to get a human for about 15 minutes now, and I decided to fill the time by leaving warnings for others about their garbage-tier customer service.

Answer:	I would like to give you some personal advice. Do not buy any type of Netgear extender. They do not work at all. What you need to do is get a expensive router that is the best thing for your Wi-Fi system. Amazon can supply you with that. Or go to Best Buy and test it out. Trust me extenders do not work. You’re throwing your money away.
Question:	Does it need to be plugged in near the router
Answer:	Try using the extender's IP address - just enter 192.168.1.250 in the browser window, while the unit is powered and in close proximity to your router, which should be powered also, of course !

Answer:	The wifi range extender gets really warm when its plugged in. I personally keep it out of sunlight areas to avoid overheating Hope this helps

Question:	How close does it have to be to the router

Question:	After a few hours of being connected the network just stops having internet connection. I have to unplug it and plug it back in to make it work
Answer:	Dear Customer, If you meet this kind of problem that sometimes repeater and mobile device will lose their connection after extension, please reset the extender to the factory setting first. (The reset button is on the bottom of the extender) If the reset method still does not work well, please check the following steps: a.When the indicator turns no light, it mean the repeater and router are disconnected. Please verify if any changes have been made. Enter the router interface to view the history, and check the status of the superior router. If the router is fine, judging the strength of the signal by indicator’s color. You can adjust the location and direction of the repeater. b. Answer:	Yes, it can work either hardwired as an access point or wirelessly as an extender of your WiFi network. The key to making a seamless network extension is by using the same wireless password as you use for your existing WiFi. This way devices can roam and you don't need to login again. I would recommend a wireless extender if you receive a good enough signal at your desired location. I find my Netgear signal as the strongest in my house. Your home construction will determine your strength of reception.

Answer:	I don't know if the cable company makes any modifications to it, but if not there should not be any issues. I added it easily to my pro setup which was originally a router an 2 beacons, now three.

Answer:	Eero is a mesh network. There are no “boosters” or range extenders as you need on a conventional WIFI network. Instead the various errors nodes all add to the network.. same SSID... same speed...same everything. You have to have an Eero or Eero pro routers , you can’t plug in a “beacon” on a non-Eero network.
Question:	Will this work with generation 1 networks
Answer:	Yes - however performance (range, throughput) will be lower than when paired with a Gen II router.
Question:	Why is the beacon twice the price of the router
Answer:	I just got off phone w Eero. The beacon costs more because it is smaller and has 3 channels. It is super easy to just plug in. The other one is 2nd gen and can be used as router or extender but has only 2 channels and needs to be placed on a table or surface. So if you have many users at same time, may be better to get beacon as you may need 3 channels for data flow, but if you just need it spread wifi over larger area, then save money and get the other one.
