Question: | Can I set this up at my home computer to be used at a camp site before I leave. because the wifi signal is not as strong from my campsite |
Answer: | I guess you could. I took my laptop and did it. It should be strong enough to do it. I'm using my friends wifi and its pretty far from my router. Worked fine. |
Question: | Can this unit log in to a WiFi system that has a captive portal web login page |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Is this like the previous model where you need to connect to a computer to set it up? Our Mac books don’t have Ethernet cable ports |
Answer: | You can set it up by wireless connection using the device's dedicated network address. Also however, you likely have other ports that a really handy adapter would help you connect to anything, including Ethernet. I recommend it highly just so you know that wherever you go, whatever the need may be, you can connect to what is available. Very affordable too. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/QGeeM-Delivery-Compatible-Thunderbolt-Chromebook/dp/B07QXMNF1X/ref=sr_1_34?dchild=1&keywords=usb+3.0+multi+adapter&qid=1601253766&sr=8-34 On a side note, so far I've been very impressed with the WI-FI Camp Pro 2. Solid, steady, reliable and simple to configure. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How do you install mac drivers if your mac has no optical drive? Can I download the drivers |
Answer: | You can try going to the website and try to download them from Alpha, otherwise buy and external portable cd/dvd rom drive. I have not tried this on my Mac yet, but I've tried to use this wifi adapter on 2 different Windows machines and it was very unstable. Good luck. |
Question: | will it work in kali linux |
Answer: | I have used it with other linux OSs and it works fine without drivers |
Question: | Will it run on windows 8.1 or Windows 10? I have recently had an issue with another Alfa product that did not have good drivers for windows 8.1 at all |
Answer: | Yes and no. I can only speak for Windows 8.1, and the answer for that is that YES it will work, but not with USB 3.0. The only driver that will install for it no matter what is 1027.4.630.2015, which is a USB 2.0 driver. The latest 7/8.1/10 driver on Alfa and Rokland's site is 1030.0.0515.2015. (They are identical besides naming). This driver will install if you disable driver signature enforcement mode, but will not start. Realtek does not have any listing for the RTL8812AU chip that this device has on it's site either. I cannot find any other drivers that work. The use of 1030 can cause BSODs in a USB 3.0 port or just not work depending on the system. 1027 will only install through device manager automatically. I've put many, many hours into finding a solution to this. There is none. Their driver is faulty and the support for this device is nonexistant. That being said, this is literally THE best Wifi AC adapter on the market for range. Over USB 2.0 you will be able to get somewhere over 300mbps after overhead. This device is able to receive 30dbm better than the ASUS USB-AC55, and can see access points very far away through many walls and floors. I tried it in a hotel and was able to see all 13 hotel access points in the 4 story 400 room hotel, as well as a large number of guest hotspots. The ping is a solid 2ms as long as HT40 and VHT80 are off. If they are enabled you will get erratic pink with spikes to the router of over 30ms during transfers.Lastly, you cannot scan for networks and use the adapter at the same time. Simply clicking the windows network icon creates a ping spike of over 500ms which is essentially a pause during the search. Using a scanning utility like inSSIDer or the better utility Acrylic Wi-Fi stops the ability to connect to anything completely until scanning is stopped. There is clearly something very wrong with these drivers but this is the only choice. Hopefully Windows 10 is another story. Perhaps I'll post a full review when I reinstall and upgrade. All in all it's working perfectly for what I need. I only get 60/4 and 120/5 is the max delivered in the area. If I ever manage to get 1gbps internet you can bet your top dollar that I will not be connecting to it over WiFi! :) |
Question: | is this adapter capable of packet injection and monitor mode |
Answer: | Darkmatter at Def Con used this card in monitor mode using drivers he patches. You can find them over at PalsHack (http://palshack.org/monitor-mode-with-alfa-ac1200-rtl8812au/) |

Product description
"Perfect fit for a shop or office away from my main residence. I must admit I had reservations about this setup initially, but I have had good luck with many products from CCRANE in the past. This WiFi repeater WORKS, period! Perfect solution for getting a great WiFi signal to an out building or office. Highly recommend this system." F Haddock, Damascus, GA Includes a WPS button for quickly connecting a new WiFi device. Up to 150Mbps connection rate using 802.11n. Using the CC Vectors’ WiFi signal reduces Internet speed because it processes twice as much data. The CC Vector supports two users watching standard quality video like Netflix or several users
- This durable parabolic antenna receives a distant available WiFi signal about 1/2 mile away (max. range is about 3 miles*). When connected to our CC Vector it repeats a new WiFi signal in a dead zone like your barn, shop, office, or other building. It works with ALL devices. Range depends on obstructions, signal strength and speed of the network you are connecting to. It is a good long range WiFi solution for connecting a remote location to a distant router and saving Internet expenses.
- The system uses a directional 15 dBi parabolic antenna which reduces interference from other WiFi networks. The heavy-duty antenna with stainless hardware mounts outdoors (mast not included) to a fixed location and then is wired to the CC Vector inside. The CC Vector then delivers a new reliable WiFi signal to a new area for all types of devices.
- It repeats a WiFi Signal to Multiple Devices such as: gaming consoles, Windows, Android, Apple, iPhone and Smart TVs, internet radios and more. There are also two available Ethernet jacks on the CC Vector for hard wiring additional computers or routers. It uses the most popular long distance 2.4 GHz WiFi band. The setup is simple and easy for basic computer users plus you have U.S. based support by C. Crane.
- The CC Vector Long Range is typically capable of supporting two users watching SD quality Netflix or several users browsing the internet simultaneously. As distance is increased, speed is reduced.
- Includes the CC X Mile Long Range WiFi Receiver, CC Vector WiFi Repeater, AC Power Adapter, 30' USB Split Cable, Stainless Steel hardware for mounting, Sealant and Silicone Grease. Mast not included.
- Note: There is normally enough speed and bandwidth for several users except for high bandwidth demands. All WiFi repeaters and extenders reduce speed because they move the data twice.
User questions & answers
Question: | Is this device bidirectional? What is the uplink speed |
Answer: | Our Long Range Wifi Antenna included in this system is directional to receive a WiFi signal from farther distances (no obstructions). The WiFi Repeater included with this system repeats a WiFi signal in an omni direction for all of your WiFi devices to connect. Upload speeds will vary depending on the WiFi router, internet connection speeds and distance that you are receiving and repeating. |
Question: | Description says it works with "available public WiFi signal." Does that mean that it only works with no wifi password required |
Answer: | No it will work with a password required (you will just need the password) or it can also work with one with out a password. |
Question: | Will this help increase the signal to my wifi t.v |
Answer: | I am pulling the WiFi signal from 150 yards away and the cc vector works great for my application |
Question: | What is the little box for |
Answer: | It's the transmitter for inside the home. Call the C. Crane company. They are excellent and will explain everything and answer your questions in detail. 1-800-522-8863 |

Alfa R36A supports Alfa AWUS036NH, AWUS036NEH, Tube-U(N) and UBDo-nt8.
This is a 2.4 Ghz-only device. It does not receive 5 GHz signals. This is done to maximize range. The FCC has more stringent power limits for dual band 5 GHz capable devices, therefore they have less max power and shorter range. Any home network or RV park that offers Wi-Fi will have a 2.4 Ghz signal. Most don't even offer a 5 Ghz signal, but those that do will also offer 2.4 GHz. If you've ever used Alfa's AWUS036NH WiFi adapter with your computer, then you know it can pull in signals much further than standard on-board Wi-Fi cards built in to today's laptops. With Alfa R36A you can extend the Wi-Fi range to all of your devices such as smartphones, printers, and tablets.
The R36A router will connect to a Wi-Fi signal you choose via the AWUS036NH/NEH or Tube-N/UBDo-nt8, and then broadcast it as a new local Wi-Fi signal so that all of your devices can use it.
How it works:
To use this device to share a Wi-Fi signal, you will also need an AWUS036NH or other compatible Alfa Wi-Fi adapter listed above which is sold separately (R36A can also be used as a standalone travel router, or with a 3G USB dongle from the supported model list). Then simply connect your computer to the R36A via ethernet cable for a one-time configuration and setup. Connect the AWUS036NH to the R36A, and using Wi-Fi scanning software built-into the R36A, you can scan for and connect to available wireless networks in your area. Once the R36A has connected to a network, you will be prompted to name and password protect your own new local Wi-Fi network, offering any device within a few hundred feet a strong Wi-Fi connection.
Included in the box:
- Power supply (supports 100-240v, has North America plug, use in Europe requires converter)
- 5 dBi RP-SMA antenna
- printed instructions
- R36A router
- Special high speed 802.11n Wi-Fi router with USB port that allows sharing of a Wi-Fi connection of an Alfa AWUS036NH, AWUS036NEH, Tube-(U)N
- Requires a compatible USB adapter listed above for sharing connection
- Must be within range of a nearby WiFi network (get weak signal)
- Not a 4G device, not dual band (single band 802.11n).
User questions & answers
Question: | How many watts does it put out |
Answer: | The transmission from the R36A to your devices is 100mw max. It is designed for RV or smaller home coverage. The RF power put out by the receiver you have connected to R36A will vary based on receiver model. Note this does require that you have a compatible receiver connected to it. |
Question: | Will this upgrade my camp pro original? I only get 3G with the original and want to get 5G |
Answer: | Yes and no... This will make your Camp Pro identical to a Camp Pro 2 but you will still be limited to 2.5Ghz WiFi (Tube/U receiver is not capable of 5Ghz)... |
Question: | does this work with awus036na and Windows |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Will this work with alfa awus 1900 usb wifi adapter to share my internet connection? i don’t see this on the list of compatible adapters |
Answer: | It is not compatible with the Alfa AWUS1900 as of this January 2020 reply of mine. Currently it supports Alfa AWUS036NH, and Alfa Tube-U(N) outdoor model, as well as AWUS036NEH. We recommend the AWUS036NH over the AWUS036NEH for indoor use though so you can get the adapter further from the R36A router so less immediate interference. The Tube-U(N) model is recommended for outdoor use. |
Question: | Is their any tutorials on how to install the drivers for kali linux |
Answer: | You won’t need to install any drivers as long as there on the host machine. You will have to add a usb from the kali menu. There is a tutorial on YouTube that shows you. |
Question: | What is the country of origin/manufacture |
Answer: | Alfa is from Taiwan. Thank you |
Question: | Can you use in Kali Linux? Would it work as monitor mode and inject packages |
Answer: | Yes, but as of July 2019 you must install drivers in order to use it (it will not work straight out of the box.) The driver installation is painful even as an experienced Linux user. |
Question: | Is this actually a fake Alfa chip? If so how does it stand up against an actual Alfa product |
Answer: | According to some websites and videos devoted to identifying a real Alfa vs fake the adapter I received is fake, I have never owned a true Alfa adapter and although the adapter I received uses a different driver which makes things complicated on a Linux system it operates very well, I have not had any problems with the function of the device however that does not mean you will not have any, if you are looking for a good adapter with decent range capabilities and cannot find any other options this device should do just fine. The way I identified the adapter as fake was one: The hologram on the bottom of the device was grey were as it should have had an array of colors. And two: if you shine a flashlight through the led slot on the adapter the color of the circuit board should have been a blue, while the adapter I received was green. My understanding was that fake alfa devices are very common and have the same circuitry and operate almost exactly as the real thing. Would I get this adapter again? Short Anwser yes. |

Question: | Is the AWSO36NH OK for a MAC |
Answer: | The AWSO36NH can be apparently be used with Mac OS X 10.14 Mojave. Drivers are located here: http://alfanetworkinc.blogspot.com/2018/11/awus036neh-and-awus036nh-macos-10.html Note, however, that according to Alfa Tech Support, the ASS036NHA is "Windows only" as it contains an Atheros chip and the manufacturer has not issued Mac drivers. Also the NHA does not work with the Alfa R36A Repeater. I point this out because I ordered this part and was shipped the NHA. So look at your part number carefully upon receipt. |
Question: | How does this product compare to the High Power USB-Yagi Plug and Play directional WiFi Antenna 802.11n 2200mW in distant reception and transmission |
Answer: | Yagi is a type of antenna, and you can use a Yagi antenna with this Wifi adapter. Yagis are very directional, but if properly aimed, they can give you much better range than most other antennas. (And if not properly aimed, they won't work at all.) |
Question: | Does this device allow for passive scanning/monitoring |
Answer: | I only used this item for a longer range for weak wifi signal while I was out of the US. Not really sure if it allows passive scanning/monitoring. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this item strengthen my wireless connection-- as my computer is very long distance from landlord's router? It's clear across the 1/4 acre land |
Answer: | Yes it will, I use it all the time around my land 1/4 acre land=105ft. If you are not at the same level of your neighbor it can affect the signal as well as the wall of both house and also the type of accessories use in both house like microwave oven other type of phone etc. If you are sharing internet ask you neighbor to place the router beside a window in line with yours. I also did a test with one bigger antenna that I had on my router and place it on this antenna and it was even better but I have only one so I had to tape the base. |
Question: | Does it support windows |
Answer: | I have updated windows 8.1 to windows 10 and yes it does support windows 10! |
Question: | Would this card be good for professional/study pentest use? Good range, packet injection, Linux support out of the box on Kali/BT/Backbox |
Answer: | I had no issues getting it to run with Ubuntu (14 and 16 XFCE). No driver install needed. Range is fantastic, but I haven't done any custom drivers for packet sniffing/injection. My guess is it'd be just as good as any other adapter. |
Question: | Can I use this as a field goal in football |
Answer: | Only finger football, if you fold a sheet of paper into a small triangle. |
Question: | Can I connect this to a 5 ghz network to connect 2.4 ghz devices to it |
Answer: | No, it has to connect to 2.4 |
Question: | Is this item returnable? If so what are the conditions of return ? Thanks |
Answer: | I don't know, never checked as I wouldn't send mine back as it works fantastic. |
Question: | configuration is a one and done correct? configuration at home and then go to campsite in rv ; should just pick up local signals correct |
Answer: | I agree with the first two responders. Not a big deal, just takes a few minutes to pick out the best/preferred signal for that new location. Yes, your "internal to the RV configuration" should be a one time thing. |
Question: | do both of these products run off of usb power |
Answer: | No you need a power supply for the R36A. Thank you |
Question: | I only have a lg vk 815 pad. saw the disk. what should i buy to boost wifi |
Answer: | This item will not work with you tablet that is running android and at the same time will not understand this device. If you want to extend the wifi coverage that you have in your home, you may consider using a wifi extender for routers. Don't have a recommendation for that due to me only living in a small place and having placed wifi connection point at the center of my home. Good luck on finding what you need. |
Question: | How long is the usb cable |
Answer: | Its about 12 inches long. I never use them. I use my kids leapfrog cable, for reason it works better. |
Question: | does this work with windows |
Answer: | Yes. But, you may have to download the drivers manually in order to get their software suite. Also, if a windows 10 installation isn't available the windows 8 software will work. |
Question: | Does this have the ralink rt3070 or rt3070l chipset |
Answer: | The AWUS036NH uses a Ralink RT3070. |
Question: | is there any reason this should not work with a 'visible' phone to increase number of hotspot connections |
Answer: | It will work in the sense you are using your Visible compatible phone to connect to a WiFi network. If there is a nearby network you want to boost, you can use the Alfa WiFi Camp Pro 2 Mini to boost the signal, and join the WiFi Camp Pro 2 Mini Wifi signal with your phone. In this sense it can work with any WiFi enabled cell phone. It cannot boost your Visible 4G reception however. So if you are in an area with no 4G signal it will not help boost the signal to a Visible tower. |
Question: | What if the rv park uses coupons for wifi connection rather than a password. will this product still work |
Answer: | yes |
Question: | Can I replace the external antenna with a directional antenna |
Answer: | Yes, you can. If you plan to keep everything inside near a window, ALFA part APA-MO4 is the compatible directional antenna that will affix directly to the AWUS036NH receiver in the ALFA WiFi Camp Pro 2 Mini. If you want to put a directional antenna outside and run a coaxial cable between the AWUS036NH and the outdoor directional antenna, this can also be done. For assistance with this we recommend reaching out to ALFA support or your retailer to make sure you get the correct type of coaxial extension to pair with your antenna. |
Question: | Does it come with DC power option also? Would love to use it going down the road |
Answer: | This does not come with DC12v power supply but that can be purchased separately (part ACR-12). It does ship with AC power supply. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this work on chromebooks--will the cd-rom download successfully to link with |
Answer: | Alfa uses software that works with any operating system that's why alfa is used by professional people. |
Question: | does this product work good for boondocking |
Answer: | Although the range is exceptional, it really comes down to how you plan on using it. If you're talking going out in the middle of nowhere, no. I know a guy that lives out of his van (by choice, not circumstance). I set him up with an older card and a laptop and he's able to grab wifi, but he mostly parks in the city. |
Question: | Is a original alfa mac address start with 00:c0:ca or copy |
Answer: | Original. |
Question: | Does this work well with Kali Linux the latest version and does it support packet injection as well as wireless mon |
Answer: | It will work if you install the realtek-rtl88xxau-dkms, then restart and then its best to shut down the interface and set the monitor mode there, so ifconfig wlan0 down && iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor && ifconfig wlan0 upchange the wlan to the one you are using. There was something put in for this in the drivers github but I dont know if its made it upstream yet.Good Luck! |
Product description
Amazingly easy set up that took less than 30 minutes from opening the package to working WiFi. In my current campground went from no internet access to perfectly streaming video. I like that it creates a private network with a private passcode that can be used with all devices. So many campgrounds either don't have WiFi accessible throughout the park or have no security. This solves both problems. Worth the price. No technical skills needed... M Reimer Newport, FL The antenna's amplifier sensitivity exceeds average WiFi range extenders C. Crane has tested. The CC Vector system is easy to set up and works on all WiFi devices such as: Gaming consoles, Windows, Android, Apple, iPhone and Smart TVs, internet radios and more. Includes a WPS button for quickly connecting a new WiFi device. If you require faster speeds for downloading or gaming, we suggest you connect directly to the CC Vectors Ethernet port. If you need any help with setup or have questions about this system call C. Crane’s US based tech support. AC/DC Adapter Specifications: Input: AC 100-240 Volts, 50-60 Hz 0.28 Amp Output: DC 12 Volts, 1 Amp Polarity: Center Tip Positive *Distance and speed vary based on line of sight, without walls, trees or other obstructions. User questions & answers
Question: | Can this device be mounted with a suction cup |
Answer: | This antenna is substantial and I would not recommend mounting it with a suction cup unless it were sizable and only for short periods of time. I have mine mounted at mounted about 12 feet with four screws holding it in place. Would like to add I've had this product for about a year-and-a-half and it's been working perfectly. I have it mounted on my pole barn which is about 200 feet from my house. |
Question: | Using via usb to pc mine keep saying can’t connect to this network even when it’s my network at home. what do i need to do |
Answer: | It should come up with its own wifi. Can't remember if it is Crane but that's what you connect to not your home and you can add a router to this if you continue to have issues. Also, go on to google on how to set this up. This is what i did |
Question: | Whats the complete setup instructions |
Answer: | The antenna can be mounted outside, however I have leaned it in the front windshield and had decent luck. Then you just plug everything in and go. You do have to have some kind of existing signal to amplify. Find it in your device settings and select. |
Question: | Can you make the new wifi signal from the indoor repeater secured, so nobody else can connect to the new wifi signal |
Answer: | It just amplifies an existing wifi signal. You have to log into the original wifi network as you did originally. You still have the same level of security you had with the original network. It just allows you to be farther from the source. |
