For color calibration, SS USB to USB. I would like to add that I'm using new software. Capture One Pro. Communicates directly with the monitor for color calibration. Very pleased with the output from my printer.

The monitor has the maximum resolution (4096 x 2160 (4K) Pixel), an excellent contrast ratio of 1500:1, and brightness of 350 cd/m2. The LCD module with IPS (Wide Gamut) panel provides 178 viewing angles, meaning that the user will see colors and contrasts as stable.

Wide Gamut - vibrant colors according to industry standards

The wide gamut monitor reliably reproduces 98% of the DCI-P3 standard used in digital cinema and supports the Rec. 2020 standard. Also, the CG319X covers 99% of the Adobe RGB color space. Precise color reproduction thanks to the high-resolution 3D look-up table

The 3D-LUT ensures the most precise tonal value assignment and extremely exact color reproduction, which is shown, among other things, by the gray wedge. With LCDs, the degree of brightness in relation to the image signal and the color mixture (addition) of red, green, and blue vary from module to module. All of this can only be precisely recorded and controlled with the help of special measuring devices. That is why EIZO sets every monitor in the CG series and their colors and tone curve at the factory. As a result, a consistent color temperature is achieved across the entire grayscale. True Black: depth of color for three-dimensional images

The CG319X displays deep black tones with its high contrast ratio, which often appear pale or washed out on a typical LCD monitor due to the background lighting. Uniformity across the entire screen

Exact color reproduction – factory calibration

With LCD panels, the image display can vary from module to module. That is why each ColorEdge monitor is precisely measured and calibrated in the factory. The gamma curves for the red, green, and blue channels are tested according to strict parameters and corrected if necessary. This unique EIZO factory calibration enables the user to start using the monitor with the preset gamut right out of the box. Also, the factory calibration allows the user to recalibrate the monitor if needed using ColorNavigator quickly.

Professional hardware calibration

Right image processing is only possible on well-calibrated monitors. The standard software calibration takes a long & requires users to have a certain level of technical expertise. The CG319X ColorNavigator hardware calibration software allows quick calibration, efficiently, & with excellent color precision: During calibration, the software directly accesses & saves to the monitor hardware's look-up-table. You determine the relevant components such as white balance, gamma, brightness, & tone value curve to your requirements. Calibration then runs automatically based on the default set during production & is therefore unique in precision & speed. Meaning users can perform calibration in just a few steps, with no need for in-depth technical knowledge. Because the calibration takes place via the monitor hardware, it is performed without loss & independently of the computer & graphics board. The CG319X smoothly integrated into an existing system.

10 bit colour depth: a billion colours in the finest grades

Thanks to the 10-bit color display based on a 24 bit LUT, you can utilize a vast color spectrum. This is made possible by the rapid DisplayPort and HDMI connections in combination with the frame rate control. Giving you a billion colors at your fingertips simultaneously. That is 64 times more colors than with an 8-bit display. The color gradations are more refined, and the color differences between adjacent colors are smaller. The enhanced greyscale range is equally important for post-production. With the 10 bit greyscale range activated, between 6% and 14% more grayscales are visible.

Stable brightness, no colour deviation

The alpha and omega for exact image editing: constant brightness and color temperature. Patented electronics balance out brightness fluctuations that may arise due to extended periods of use and increased environmental and operating temperature. Thanks to a built-in thermometer, color deviations caused by room temperature fluctuations are eliminated and automatically reduced. The color rendering remains constant over a long period of use, right from the start: because the warm-up time until brightness, color, and tone values has completely stabilized is just three minutes.

Luminance Warning and Gamut Warning

The Luminance Warning allows areas that exceed a certain brightness (300, 500, 1000, or 4000 cd/m2) when PQ mode is used to be highlighted. These areas can be highlighted in the user’s choice of yellow or magenta.

The Gamut Warning operates in two modes: Rec. 2020 image content that can’t be displayed in the Rec. 709 gamut is displayed in greyscale. Alternatively, clipping mode is simulated in Rec. 709 to show how Rec. 2020 material would look on HDTV devices.
