Answer:	Yes this dock will work with a t440s. We have used this dock with t450s(almost the same as a t440s). Surprising that the Lenovo Rep said that since the cord is a hybrid usb-c(end connecting to the laptop has a usb-c to type A adapter). Once connected you may have to run driver updates to get the dock up and running(either via Lenovo website or from Lenovo vantage app through windows store). Warning though this dock won’t charge your laptop so you will need to connect the Lenovo power brick to power and charge the laptop.

Not to mention this is a 5400 RPM hard drive with 64MB of memory and 8 GB of Solid State Memory. Running Disk Speed Test on a 2011 2 Ghz i7 Quad using as a stress test of 5 GB got an average of 63 MB/s Write and 59 MB/s read with a 1GB file averaging better at 83 MB/s Write and 79 MB/s Read. Appears to be faster than the average 5400 RPM hard drive. It will speed up your computer as most of the often used data will be shuffled to the SSD portion. I got this drive for about $95 replacing the upgraded 500 GB Harddrive. Once installed it boots up in nearly half the time as previous and all applications are much quicker to launch with very little lag. It was well worth the price for double the capacity and double the speed vs 3-4 times the speed and 1/8th the capacity a comparably priced SSD drive would cost.
