Answer:	I wear an 8 1/2 and ordered the medium. Had to exchange it for the small. It's not really not about the size of the foot, but the circumference. ie if you have a thin or thick foot and ankle. I found that even with going down a size the compression was not really strong enough and I need a higher compression to be effective.

Answer:	I don't necessarily believe these ankle braces would be too tight to wear under your socks. I wear mine over my socks, but that's always been my preference. The biggest difference with these ankle braces is that they fully cover the heel. Other ankle braces that I've worn over the years, such as those made by Bike, all essentially have a "cut out" at the heel. You might need to adjust to that change. And while I like the Kunto brand a great deal, I believe their knee braces and elbow braces are better products than their ankle braces. I hope this helps. Thank you!!
