Answer:	This drive is not slow at all - you have your megabits and megabytes confused. USB 2.0 has a max speed of 480mbps, which is 60MB/s, while USB 3.0 can push 640MB/s and this drive is 240MB/s, which is excellent for a single HDD (non-SSD, non-RAID) as most similar drives work in the 180-220MB/s range. Also please keep in mind that with any hard drive, the drive itself is usually the limiting factor in transfer speed. Meaning any single drive is typically not capable of reading/writing data at anywhere near the published max speed that the interface is "capable" of. You have to get into an SSD or multi-drive RAID setup to start really utilizing what today's faster interfaces like USB 3.0 and 3.1 are capable of.

Answer:	USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 are NOT the same. TB3 is significantly faster, and can daisy chain TB3 devices. USB-C is much cheaper, but also slower, and can not be daisy chained. They do use cables with the same connectors, but this looks like it's just USB-C. Price point is a giveaway. Don't think you can get a drive with TB3 this inexpensively.

Answer:	I had problems accessing what i put on the drive. If your friend puts the drive back in the original computerit may be possible to access the pictures and transfer them. I returned all of these drives as they were defective

Answer:	The specific answer with respect to 32 gig drives is that I don't know because I don't buy cheap drives of that size. The answer you are looking for is "probably not." I buy and give away a lot of 4 gig drives. A 4 gig drive contains space for 4,018,110,464 bytes. That's why it's called "4 gig." In actual fact, because an actual gigabyte is larger than 4 billion entries, a 4 gig USB stick accepts 3.79 gigabytes of data. If you actually have a file or files which total 32 gigabytes it/they will not fit on a "32 gig" drive. This is not bait and switch or any other nefarious form of product description; it is a result of the nomenclature the entire computer industry has adopted to please the marketing arms of the various companies. An even more glaring example of this is processor speeds.

Answer:	I've had two of these WD Gold (2TB) HDD's installed in separate computers, both purchased together in 2016, both are very quiet when compared to the high performance (SATA-2) Caviar Black. Until that point, had been running mostly WD RE4 (SATA-2) drives for data, in a couple of PC's, for OS also. Mainly because I could get these at low cost, often new pulls from servers for $50 or less (500GB to 1TB). Did buy a couple of used ones less, these also held up well. None has died. Yet back to the point & WD Gold, it's as good of a data/desktop drive as it gets. 128MB cache on all models which upgrades to 256MB around 4GB & larger, it beats the current gen WD Black hands down. While the WD Gold does have features for RAID usage, if used as a single desktop drive (or paired with SSD for data, how I use my pair), the performance is nothing less than Outstanding. If one has their PC plugged into a UPS emergency power (highly recommended), for best performance, go into Device Manager & find the drive, under Policies, check 'Turn off Windows write caching buffer flushing for this device' (or similar wording). As far as noise goes, unless in the rare event that the WD Gold has gone bad, look elsewhere, maybe a fan. Mine are installed using the rubber bushings provided with my heavily sound insulated Fractal Design case. If one doesn't have these bushings or grommets, can be found in a bulk back at most any local hardware store. Just carry the screw intended for installing, can match with one that fits the screw well. Ideally one which has a groove in the middle to place in the mounting hole, may have to wet to slide into place (I use saliva, works great!). This absorbs any vibration & also helps to protect the WD Gold or any HDD. BTW, these drives are rated for 550TB writes per year, a factor in my purchase decision. I have zero regrets as to purchasing the WD Gold, only $5 more & 2x the cache versus the same sized WD Black. In summary, I cannot recommend the WD Gold enough to anyone who wants a long lasting, quality HDD.

Answer:	I believe they do comply with UMS. Although I don't know this for a fact. I put mp3 audio files on mine and play them in my car as well as on other devices that support USB devices. I've never had a problem. I even put groups of files in separate sub-directories - based on album name or artist. All my devices read the USB drives correctly - including all directory content. Answer:	Yes. But time but it will need to be wiped clean and run through disk utility. Make sure you have enough space on the hard drive, or time machine won’t work.
Question:	Can this be used for a back up to my galaxy note 10+5g to back up photos ? also what's the size and format spend
Answer:	The built-in cable is Thunderbolt, also compatible with Thunderbolt 2 ports. It makes no difference in speed which connection you use, either will max out the available drive speed as will USB-C or USB 3.0 for that matter. Same speed for any connection on this drive really (except USB 2.0 would be slower)
Question:	Will this work with PS
Answer:	This is a formatting issue, easily resolved. I believe LaCie does have a small FAT 32 partition that typically contains formatting utilities for both Mac and PC. Is so, please run the "Lacie_Setup" file to format if you see it. Or format manually - in Windows, use DISK MANAGEMENT tool and format using default NTFS file system. Formatting instructions for Windows and Mac: https://www.lacie.com/manuals/rugged/usbc/optional-formatting-partitioning/ On Mac, there is an issue with High Sierra in which drive size can be misreported. From LaCie: It has come to my attention that Mac OS High Sierra has a new Disk Utility that is slightly different than the one before it and it is confusing end users on how to format a drive. The end users keep thinking their hard drive has only a 400MB or 250GB of volume and then returning the drives when there is nothing wrong with them. Issues: • Drive displays wrong capacity ~ 350 - 450 MB o That’s because Disk Utility (DU) is set to“Show Only Volume” so it’s listing the LSA volume, not the drive itself. • The drive fails to format o Users may be trying to format the LaCie Setup volume in DU. o LSA failed to format the drive, so DU displays a grayed out volume

Answer:	A UHS Class 3 would be better (this is a class 1, which is notated with the number 1 inside of the 'U' shape). This card is usable, but some of the higher framerates and resolutions the GoPro7 is capable of would not write to this card fast enough.
