Answer:	I figured it out! You make sure the switch that says (lock, al. Set, date set, time set) is in the up position (lock) Also make sure that the sensor switch is turned to the ON position. But I think you might be asking for something to "listen" and detect that you are yelling (from nightmare) and then sound an alarm when it does??? If that's your goal, this unit would NOT work for that. First of all, the voice response unit (for voice commands) must be initiated by YOU saying the unique phrase "Wake Up Sleepy Head". Saying this puts the unit in command mode, waiting for you to next change a setting (by voice command) such as enable or disable alarms, set alarm time, etc. But it can NOT trigger the alarm directly as you might want. Sorry.
