Answer:	A better antenna does improve efficiency. I've tried several different types of rabbit ears and the like but have had the best success with one of the "leaf antennas" (copy and use this link for Amazon search: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_5?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=leaf+antenna&sprefix=leaf+%2Celectronics%2C252). I use it at work and I am at the outer edge of reception and behind some hills. As one of the other answers stated with digital it is usually there or not. These leaf antennas seem to be able to pull in the weakest stations with not problems. Also, the power amplifier included with some of the versions also makes a difference. If you live with lots of clutter (trees, hills, buildings, etc) try one of the powered ones. Good luck.

Answer:	It will drive you crazy trying to find a logical explanation, OR a fix. Had this for a couple of years. GREAT at first, then started losing channels, then died about 6 months ago. Very common to find the same in reviews on other sites. So the good news is, NO contract...the Bad news is, you get to buy a new one every year, that's if you are lucky. Get used to it folks, many electronic devices that used to last for 10 years, now last less than one. But to answer you specifically, it makes no difference. Ran through splitter for the year that it worked, when it quit, I tried direct, new wire, cleaned antenna connections, many hours of work wasted. Not saying some may have used bad splitters, and a temp fix may be lucky for you. For more info, check newegg with 10 times the reviews. It has a %47 total, %28 1 or 2 star and only %16 4 star. Even that is misleading because so many post the review when they first set it up and don't bother when it fails. Question:	Does this work with windows 7 64bit
Answer:	I use it on Windows 8.1 on my desktop. Haven't tried it on the laptop with Windows 7.It does record. But after wasting a couple of disks found out I need to use 8.5gb DVD+r disks. Got 50 more blank disks today and will start transferring some more of my vhs. I have several DVD burning software programs. But only have gotten one to burn off so far. Waited until I got some more blanks before trying again. And I had to use it in compatibility mode to make it work with Windows 8.1. It was a pain but I'll see how the next one goes.

Answer:	Hard to say. It could be a USB port issue on your W10 machine. A complete restart and device USB re-insertion may help. It could be a device USB/cord issue. If this is the case, just contact the seller and ask for replacement or refund. As far as the software included with the device, it may not be top of the line, but (in my case) it does what it said it would - transfer MINI-DV files to my laptop in MP4 format. Besides, your issue sounds more like a hardware problem. Try the restart/reinsert (into a different port, too)first. If that doesn't work, ask for a refund. Good luck!

Question:	While it sees my 5ghz network, it refuses to connect to it. it only connects to the 2.4ghz one. why? i'm using the latest realtek drivers
Answer:	The short answer is that 2.4 GHz will generally register as having better signal strength compared to 5GHz. Windows tends to prefer this, and most consumer routers won't signal the endpoint to switch to 5GHz. You can fix this by going to the advanced adapter properties, and seeing if you can set it to "Prefer 5GHz". Alternatively, the WiFi Mode setting can be set to a set that excludes 2.4GHz like 802.11 a/c/n/ac.

Answer:	I have. I’ve been experimenting with it as a replacement for TiVo. It is not listed as a supported tuner by Plex. I’m running Plex on a Win10 I5 system. All of the features seem to work but I’m having problems with pixelation that seems to be in the recording. This does not happen with the native hauppauge software. I’m using the most current drivers. Plex forums seem to indicate this issue appears after version 7 of Plex. I’ve been considering trying a Linux platform to see if the problem persists. I like Plex and the interface but for now it is not there to replace my TiVo for PVR functions with this tuner. The pci version of the quad tuner is supported by Plex. I ordered it from Amazon and after 8 weeks Amazon cancelled my order. Said they were unable to fill the order. Good luck

Question:	All i want is to plug an antenna into my pc and watch the local network affiliates on it. is this what i need to do that
Answer:	It should work with any USB connection. I've used mine on my custom built tower which has USB 3.0 ports and my Sony Vaio laptop in both the 2.0 and 3.0 ports.
Question:	How many integrated tuners
Answer:	The length of the cable is 8" from the end of the hub to the end of the usb plug. I think some of the confusion comes from the multiple device listings on the same page. I believe the one I bought had a promo code and was the base model. That one comes as the hub alone. If you look closely, the other ones are listed with a 3 foot USB extension cable. It all depends what you are looking for. In my case I didn't need the extra 3' of cable laying on my desk. It worked fine for my older laptop with one USB 3.0 plug. Mine did not lose connection however as another customer had experienced. Hope this helps you out there and sorry for the delay in answering.
