Question:	Why is my Daughter complaining that her phone stops charging overnight
Answer:	This is an external powered USB hub with individual port power control. If you're hooked up to a computer and you power off the system at night then the USB hub is not getting an "on" signal. This is not a wall plug phone charger, it requires an input source to be active, not just external power.
Question:	Does it work if the power adapter is not plugged into the wall
Answer:	I just tested mine and it works without the AC adapter connected. I'm not sure it would handle powering 7 devices along with the charging port though.
Question:	Can it be used only with the pc usb? or always need to be connected to the electrical outlet
Answer:	It depends on what type of USB port your laptop has (this dictates the maximum power transmission capacity) and how much demand you're placing on the device. If it's a bunch of small things like BT dongles and small flash USB/SD drives, it may power them all. If you use an external HDD or SSD (some are built to be that from the start, the rest can be converted to one via a USB enclosure), especially the 3.5 inch varieties which standard desktop towers use, you are far more likely to have power shortages. For example, my SSD/HDDs will beep when attached to a hub and cannot be loaded by the PC, if I use two at a time and I don't attach some sort of external power source (or I don't use one high enough). Also, bear in mind each USB port in a hub has a maximum power transmission rate. Thus, if you use a device that consumes far less power than the listed combined max rate/power jack intake for the hub, but consumes more than what an individual port of that hub can provide, it will not work properly. This shouldn't be a concern unless you use a very high-power or high-end device. For reference, an external 2.5-inch USB external hard drive uses 0.5 amperes (also listed as 500 mAh). The standard 2.0 USB A-type ports supply at least 0.5 A.
Question:	Can all ports be used for charging and transfer data
Answer:	All upper ports can be used for data and charging. The port at the front of the hub is charging only. I run my USB desk light from the front port, and works fine. The 7 upper ports I use for things like my wireless keyboard/mouse, cell phone charging/connection to laptop. It runs my external DVD drive, and works with all ports in use at once. Works with USB 3/2 with no data loss. I will purchase a new one to replace an existing hub behind my desk. Lastly, I have gone through multiple devices like this one, and they fell apart, or failed within a year. This device has exceed my expectations.

Question:	Can you use the power supply one, without the power supply if you wanted to
Answer:	Yes the USB hub will work fine without the AC power adapter. You will need the AC adapter if you want to charge more power-intensive accessories like iPads, etc. that require higher current or if you want to charge 4 devices at one time.
Question:	How long is USB3 cable
Answer:	measured mine at about 1 meter. I really like this thing. The two red high-power only ports are oriented 180 degrees from the USB 3.0 ports so you physically can't mix them up either.
Question:	How many ports can I have active at one time, without overloading the single port of the computer
Answer:	You can use all 4. However, If you need to utilize the speed of 3.0 x4 you will need that kind of throughput on the port you attach it to and this device as well (not sure of max throughput). Most USB devices don't need that kind of speed (such as web cam, keyboards, mice) For instance, if you hook up 3 external SSD drives and VR headset, you will potentially bottleneck on speed. The devices will still function, just not at 100% speed.
Question:	what's the different between the one with the external power adapter and the one without
Answer:	With my USB 3 Ports on my Acer TC-780 front panel ports, I can power all four ports with thumb drives. When I tried the same with a Dell U473D Slim Multimedia Keyboard with 2 USB Port I had to use the pawer supply that came with the HB-UMP3 4-port Powered USB hub. I would advise getting the powered hub because you don't know if your USB port will support enough devices without the power supply unit.

USB 3.0 is limited to 5 Gb/s. Because the port is being split 7 ways, if you have 7 drives attached, the drives will have to share that 5 Gb/s. That speed is not specifically split between the ports however. It's dynamically shared. So, for example, if 7 drives are connected, but only one is being used to transfer files at the time, the drive will experience roughly the full 5 Gb/s. However, if 5 drives are all transferring files, the speed would then be (very roughly this depends on a number of factors) 1 Gb/s each.

Answer:	It depend om what is connected. Mice and Keyboards and some HDs have either batteries or a power supply but I would not hook up one of the portable "2.5" drives, which are really metric 60 mm not 2.5 inches. The power from the USB depend on the port. Not all ports supply a charging voltage. You source port would need to supply the proper energy if you did not use it. A memory stick his no power source, a larg one would be th most likely object to fail besides the previously mentioned drive.

Answer:	- The smart-charging port provides up to 2.4Amps powering your smartphone, tablet, and other USB-charged devices, including Android, Apple, and Samsung devices. There is one smart charging port which will do what you want; the other ports are for use with a computer to allow 4 ports to use 1 computer port for connecting several items to the computer.

Answer:	The cable length of the adapter is 120cm.
Question:	Raspberry pi - will this hub safely power 3 raspberry pi 3's
Answer:	It will power my Rpi4, unless the other 4 devices are drawing too much. Then the Pi will crash.
Question:	What type of connector is used for data cable to the hub? Want to use a longer cable than the one supplied
Answer:	It is a USB (computer end) to a rectangular looking plub (hub end) however, this is a standard cable type so you can replace it with a similar longer cable than the one that comes with it. I am not sure exactly what to call the hub end shape of the cable but it is the same as other hub cable connector cables.

Answer:	I use MyPassport all the time and it works fine while I have other things connected to it. I even piggyback with another multi port connector.

Answer:	The power cord is 4 feet long. The attached USB cable that plugs into the computer is 18 inches long.
Question:	What are the main differences between using a power adapter and not using a power adapter
Answer:	Standard USB ports are .500mA for USB 1 and 2, and 900mA for USB 3. 4 ports drawing power over over that total, and something goes power-hungry, if you plug this in without powering it. Basically, the preceding is how much juice it has to distribute to 4 ports on this unit. Not plugged in, it's 500mA. Plugged in, it gets .500mA from the port it is plugged into, plus the 3000mA (3A) the power supply is giving. Note that the high-power port description says "up to" 2400mA (2.4A). Why? Even plugged in, 4 items drawing .500maA (=2A) would leave only 1.5A left for this high-power 2.4A port (if these things add perfectly and are perfectly efficient) or otherwise another device is not getting some. You CAN turn off ports on this hub, of course, if you are not using what is plugged in. 4 mice? No prob. 4 HDD's? Plug it in.
