| Answer: | The clamp is for the hose, that supposed to be connected to the valve and to be put down into a bucket with water. The valve is opened and air from the filter body bubbles through the water in the bucket; when it stops bubbling - it's time to close the valve, because air is all released. Usually nobody bothers to connect hose, and do it scientific way; as long as water doesn't shoot into your face.... But if you want to use a hose and bucket, I would suggest to find something that fit before you connect the valve to the filter. Hose should fit the valve, and clamp should fit the hose, so may be you will need to get the right clamp anyway. Be careful when connecting and disconnecting hose, opening and closing - this plastic valve is very flimsy and fragile, it brakes at the thread which goes to filter body.! |
