3 best fishfinder with sides
A fishfinder with side imaging, often referred to as a side-scanning fishfinder or side-scan sonar, is a specialized marine electronics device used by anglers and boaters to locate fish and underwater structures. Here's what you need to know about fishfinders with side imaging:
Fish Finders Depth Finders: Fishfinders, including those with side imaging capabilities, are designed to help users locate fish in bodies of water by sending out sound waves (sonar) and interpreting the echoes that bounce back. In addition to locating fish, they also provide depth information, which is useful for navigation and fishing.
Side Imaging Technology: Fishfinders with side imaging technology use specialized transducers to send out sonar beams to the sides of the boat, creating detailed images of the underwater environment. These images can show the bottom contour, fish, structures like submerged trees or rocks, and even vegetation. Side imaging provides a broader view compared to traditional sonar, which typically scans directly beneath the boat.
Marine Electronics: Fishfinders with side imaging are a part of the broader category of marine electronics. They are essential tools for boaters and fishermen, helping them navigate safely and locate fish more effectively.
Car Vehicle Electronics: Fishfinders are typically not used in cars or vehicles. They are specialized marine equipment designed for use on boats. However, some anglers may have portable fishfinders that can be used in various settings, including from the shore or on a kayak.
Electronics: Fishfinders with side imaging are electronic devices that include a display unit (often with a color screen) and a transducer. The transducer is mounted on the boat's hull and sends and receives sonar signals. The display unit shows the side imaging data and depth information.
Benefits: The main advantage of fishfinders with side imaging is their ability to provide a more comprehensive view of the underwater environment, allowing anglers to identify fish-holding structures and schools of fish to the sides of the boat. This information can significantly improve fishing success.
Popular Brands: Several companies manufacture fishfinders with side imaging technology, including Humminbird, Lowrance, Garmin, and Raymarine. These brands offer a range of models with varying features and price points to cater to different needs.
Installation and Usage: Proper installation and calibration of the transducer are crucial for getting accurate side imaging results. Users typically need to learn how to interpret the images and adjust settings to suit their specific fishing conditions.
In summary, fishfinders with side imaging technology are valuable tools for anglers and boaters, allowing them to see detailed underwater images to the sides of their boats. This technology has revolutionized fish finding and is a popular choice among those who want to improve their fishing efficiency and success.

Question: | i have a helix 5 with si and di. the temp wont display instaed where temps should be is "T" and the degree symbol with dif numbers |
Answer: | That isn't the temp field but rather a heading/bearing in degrees (0 - 360). You'll need to select the appropriate field from your digital data fields. It also depends on the screen you're on. |
Question: | will this work with 967c 3d combo |
Answer: | I don't think it would according to Humminbird, it isn't on the listed models. |
Question: | Does this coming with anything to transom mount it or is it just the transducer |
Answer: | If this is a new in-the-box transducer it would come with the transom mount and all the hardware needed. If it is not I would have you ask the seller. |
Question: | questions. does this come with the metal mounting bracket shown? also, this is compatible for a helix 9 si gen |
Answer: | Compatible with Helix units don’t know about mounting bracket. I have both. They haven’t given any trouble. |
